Yep, that was the same story we were getting. Had to be 85% or more total it. The body shop did a great job with the repairs but I do have to wonder how well the vehicle would hold up if it were to get into another similar accident given all that was fixed…

Actually I have to go back to them this week to get the power running board they neglected to replace swapped out.

I'm picky as FCK on who works on the cars.....and IME, it's in one best interest to just bring it to the bodyshop of your choice (if you have a known good one) and let them sort that ### out between the adjuster. I can't recall ever deviating from that rule and going to an insurance's shop.

Thought I'd post the outcome. My X5 has been repaired and looks as good as new! Some irony there, as it was an almost new car when it was hit, but thankfully the outstanding shop I used for the repairs restored the vehicle to it's as new condition. In the long term I'll likely be stuck with some diminished value, and if I had been hit by someone with insurance , I would pursue a diminished value claim against the at-fault driver.

I'm simply thankful I've got the car is back and it looks great! The repairs ended up costing $7,500, and the work took 3-weeks to complete (not counting a week at the front end while the needed parts were ordered and delivered while I still drove the car).

If anyone in the Houston area is looking for an excellent collision repair facility, DM me for shop details.

Going through a similar thing with mine. Got rear-ended last weekend. The person was insured thankfully. So far the estimate is approx $9000. I suspect will be higher once they uncover the damage. I plan on going after demished value. I was told that would be a separate claim after the repair is complete.

Glad your vehicle came back in like new condition. Hoping for the same.

Driving a Kia Sorento. That is considered a premium vehicle with Enterprise. Not loving it at all.

My 50e was hit while parked. My preliminary estimate by my Nationwide adjuster is at approximately $21500, and that’s before the BMW certified shop has been able to get it on a rack for disassembly. Here in Pennsylvania, the car is totaled if the repair cost plus salvage value exceeds its actual cash value. In my case, the vehicle is eight months old with 5500 miles. Waiting for the decision….

I can empathize with you, Mon. Enterprise furnished me a 2021 Toyota RAV4 "beater."

And we wonder why insurance costs are way up. The OP's experience is one of many reasons.

Aeons ago I was hit by an uninsured driver. Virtually surgically removed the left side of the vehicle. Fortunately, police joined us as we were blocking a main intersection.

He admitted to running a red light - because his breaks failed.

Offered me $100.

Hired an attorney. He wouldn’t budge.

In court, judge was unamused. I had to front initial funds, as I didn’t want to bring my insurance into it.

Judge found that he must send weekly checks until debt is covered, plus interest and all other costs. If he failed, he’d be arrested. Had a feeling the judge must have gone through the same thing.

But did you actually get all the money?

NAL: How is GrubHub not liable for allowing someone to deliver their food without verifying DL and Insurance coverage?

Second that…I’d think they are liable.

It sucks but you may want to read up on the agreement between GrubHub and the food providers and delivery services. GrubHub is solely a virtual marketplace platform. Sure you could try to go after them legally, but you might as well just burn your money instead as you’ll get the same result.

I'm sure there have been enough GH drivers at fault in accidents to warrant a class action against the company.

I have very good experience with GEICO approved shop. The one I used 3 times is actually Toyota collision center. Paint job was impeccable and the color was Donington grey. Every time they finished repairs on time and with great results. Once they have to send car to BMW dealership to deal with electronic part of the repair. They have adjuster on site and if anything has to be added it takes no time. Also every time they were buying parts at the BMW dealerships .
