Thanks for the report Shovelhead, I’ll do one next week after my stay at Hotel Hartness. Is it standard that BMW serves you breakfast? It would be nice not to be rushed to get breakfast at the hotel before catching the shuttle to the Center in the morning. Thanks again.

Your CA will need to check. They recently opened it back up to European but vehicles so that may start having an impact on waiting times.

Around a month as of earlier this year. I don’t forsee demand picking up due to loss of included hotel and meals (dinner and breakfast). Greenville Marriot is suffering as their front line employees are not happy with the loss of BMW customer gratitudites five days a week.

It’s not advertised for breakfast per se other than coffee and snacks. We got there at 7:40 am and a lot of staff were eating and the kitchen is amazing so my greater took me back there and told them I was a solid customer lol. I had a egg and ham croissant 🥐

Booked today for PCD on 5/9. Still do not have build date. Doesn’t seem like much of a wait for an X5.

That is unusual. They usually don't give out a date until you are in Production Begins.

I have a question. I learned about PCD on this forum and am interested in doing it. I ordered a P50e at the end of January and have a week 21 (May 20) build. I contacted my dealer a couple days ago about scheduling a PCD. They told me they'd have to cancel and resubmit my order, which would push me out to Aug/Sept. Has anybody else heard of something like that? It doesn't make sense to me. Thanks.

They are just telling you that. Some dealers don't like their customers to participate in PCD so they make things up. Unfortunately it is optional as to whether they offer it or not. You may want to call them on their nonsense, perhaps it is just their ignorance and not that that don't want you to do it. Let us know how it goes.

As TurtleBoy says, that response from your dealer is just ridiculous. That is not at all how it works. Earlier this year, our dealer submitted our PCD request after our X6 order was filed and before production began - and it all proceeded smoothly.

I don’t see why a dealer would object to a PCD. For the cost of a phone call or email to their BMW rep, they can avoid all costs and effort in delivering the vehicle to you.

WrigleyBoy your dealer is full of it. This is the kind of crap that gives auto dealers a bad rap. While dealers are not required to participate in PCD they shouldn’t outright lie to you. I’d call the GM and enlighten him/her with my disappointment at being lied to.

Thanks. I wonder if they are loosening up a bit given they are back to doing PCD for German built vehicles also.

A heads-up for anyone thinking about booking the Marriott Grand Bohemian Lodge in Greenville. We've already learned that the hotel has changed its PCD policy and no longer will pick you up at the airport, shuttle you to the PCD the next day and provide similar bennies. Now, I can add that, if and when you book, your credit card will be fully charged for the first night's stay - not a provisional charge, an actual charge.

Put another way, you will be paying for your hotel room - a week, a month, a year, a decade, whatever - before you arrive.

I am returning to the Performance Center in mid-July with my grandson for the BMW Teen School. Eager to give him the full experience, I booked a return visit to the hotel (my wife and I stayed at the Grand Bohemian for our PCD in mid-February), despite the known hardening of its BMW-related policies. Now, after learning that I've already been charged for that room, I just cancelled the reservation.
