Car starts to roll in D and R
Just started to happen as of last week - when I put the car in D, R or even 1st gear and let off the brake pedal, the car starts to roll. It behaves pretty much like any regular car with automatic transmission. I owned this car for about 6 months, and a previous gen X6M for 3 years, and they always behaved like a DSG. I had to actually tap the gas pedal for the car to start moving.
I searched through all the settings, can't find anything that could cause such behavior. Am I missing anything, or is it a malfunction? |

It usually happens when on a slight ramp. It happens to me all the time on my F86

Yes, I'm aware. I also have a 2018 M2 with true DSG, and my 2017 X6M and the 2021 X6M were always imitating DSG behavior, until last week. I'll call the dealer, this isn't normal.

Even at the light on a pretty flat surface the transmission disengages at the slightest pull/push AFAIK

Normal op for all transmissions will happen. Since you can't agree with any of us owners bring it in for service let the dealer state. "Operating as normal"

Just verified in my friends 2018 X6M - when the car is in D on flat surface, it remains stationary on flat surface, and will actually roll backward if its on an incline and forward if on decline.
My car will start moving forward on flat surface, and even when on incline it will start rolling forward. I am pretty sure it did not behave like this when I first got it. |

My 2018 acted like the DCT where it didn't creep forward and would roll back when you left off the brakes.
My 2020 X5M would creep forward once you let off the brakes on day 1 since i bought it. I even read it somewhere that this is one of the changes that BMW did to this gen but i can't find it. Did you look at your cars manual?

It doesn't happen in BMWs with actual DCT/DSG transmission, such as my M2. My previous 2017 X6M with 8 speed used to imitate this behavior, and I believe my 2021 did as well, although I might have been using auto hold all this time, really can't remember.
