Picked it up yesterday! It arrived a day earlier than expected. 😊 I ordered mid March, received VIN/Production begins status on 3/20, entered assembly line 4/3, and it was at dealership by noon on 4/6! So fast! 2024 X5 x drive 40i Carbon Black with coffee merino leather, both M sport packages, and fully loaded other than the drive assist package.

Picked up my 2024 X5 Wed afternoon. Process through the dealership was smooth and only lasted a total of 1 1/2 hours. Military incentive was applied, which helped the bottom line. Now I'm faced with SO MANY choices on how to setup the displays, it will probably be ongoing for some time to come.

DaveSmith keep us posted. Congrats on car and the mil discount. Should get mine also. Let us know on the setup experience. I'm watching youtube on the iDrive 8 so it's not a complete shock. Car in production next week.

Maybe I should post elsewhere but my detailing for new car as I've done in past is this: Get car, wash, clay with clay mitt, two coats of Jescar Ultra Power Plus +. Has worked well in past and condition excellent 5 years later. Of course wash frequent, re wax every 6 months. This is not a garage queen so the initial new car prep for me has worked well in the past. I do have half mile of gravel but drive slow on that. I asked my SA about low profile mud guards and he said they increase noise. Had them on a Charger SRT and you couldn't notice them but did the job. Wish I'd kept them. I know there are other options so will look into that. Not a big issue for now. Great looking car BTW!

I put my order in about 2 weeks ago but still stuck in “Order Received” status. Was wondering if that had to do with M60 status, so I guess not. I figured my production might take longer as I went with individual color(British Racing Green) but my dealership said that the delay(2-4 weeks) will be after assembly.

Your dealership was mistaken. There delay occurs prior to production due to them batching the colors if possible. The vehicle is painted prior to assembly and it will be delivered right after just like any other build. We have been seeing delays about 3 months or so for Individual colors but that is variable.

As an example, here was arRod1981 's timeline for his from last year.

03-14: Order placed, no production number
03-23: Allocation/Production # received
03-29: Status 102
04-08: Status 111, Wk26 production
06-03: Status 112, Wk26 production
06-14: Status 150, production date 06/29
06-28: Status 153, production date 06/28
06-29: Status 155, production date 06/29
07-05: Signed all paperwork
07-19: Picked up at PCD

Good luck!! The wait is brutal as you'll see others get their builds (obviously not individual colors) whilst you're still waiting (think Sarah McLachlan - Angel playing as you read the posts of those receiving their builds). Totally worth it in the end though, I can promise you the!

I agree on the wait. I was really excited to put this all together in this particular combo, so even if it's a little longer than expected, I am cool with it.

Quick question, what do these production status numbers mean?

03-29: Status 102
04-08: Status 111
06-03: Status 112
06-14: Status 150
06-28: Status 153
06-29: Status 155
