Buy out Lease?

Hey guys,

My lease on my X5 40i is ending in a few months. I'm still wondering what I should do...

I'm about 4000 over my mileage limit - is it wise to buy the miles before I turn the car in? I'm worried they may charge me for the bunch of the items like brakes/tires.... does anyone have any bad experiences with this?

It's been a great experience with the car, just don't want to deal with the issues with reliability, as I have air suspension that has already been repaired once!

Thanks!

It is generally less expensive to buy the miles prior to turn-in. You can do it online.

They won't charge you for the tires/brakes if they meet the minimum. Unless you are extremely hard on the brakes or have a high usage driving style, you shouldn't have to worry about them.

You can take the vehicle to the dealer to have a pre-turn in inspection to get an idea of what items they would charge you for.

You can buy extra miles at a discounted rate before the lease maturity date, but I think it must be 4-6 months before? (Your agreement will state the terms.)

The other thing -- your dealer may want your car, in which case they'd take it as a trade, and the lease turn-in requirements don't really apply. They'd only want to do this if your payoff is lower than ACV.
