I just did a couple of cosmetic mods to my 2020 30d G05
1. I painted the factory chrome grill piano black, just the outer rings, and left the vertical slats as they come from factory in satin gray finish.
2. Installed the emblems of the 50 years ///M heritage badges (from IND)

If I wanted to black my grill is this paint or does the grill get replaced?

You can repaint you factory grill without the need of replacing (if that was your question) in my case, I only painted the outer rings (were chrome), and left the slats as they come standard.These are two individual parts, so you can separate them for easy painting.

I have a friend that has a body shop, so we use regular automotive paint, it was a $140 paint job
