Vinyl wrapped my X5MC in chalk grey

Got bored of the black sapphire metallic and decided to switch it up.

Looks nice. Did they wrap the door jams too? How much does a full car wrap cost?

Nah I didn't do the door jams but it doesn't bother me because the original color was black. If the original color was something that would stand out more like MBB then I would've done the jams too. In this area, from a reputable shop, it's in the ballpark of $3,500 to $4,000 for the wrap. I also did ppf over the full nose

Cool. Plus once you get bored of this, you can always just remove the wrap.

This is the first time I wrapped a car but I think it's fairly simple to remove. Heat up a corner and begin to peel off. I know the amount of time it's on the car and the amount of exposure to sunlight, as in never garage kept, can effect how easily it comes off. I never even asked the cost to remove. I'm guessing in the $500+ range

Mostly places I talked to to remove wrap and put a new wrap on was free removal. To just remove it was 250$ for PPF and 400$ for color wrap. Just my experience in AZ. Also after they remove it the do a waterless wash to help get any glue off etc.

Literally peels right off.....

For those not familiar with sticker'ish stuff being applied to OE paint, just be very selective about installers. Wrap, etc covers these things until you pull it off and you find paint has been cut....these things are installed where film/wrap is scored to cut.

Do you need to re-register your car with the state with the new color? And with insurance? I've always wondered.

I have not. I don't think you have to. I tried to get a clear answer from the DMV but after being on hold for what I felt was too much time, I just said fuck it and hung up. So far I haven't had any issues

I had a previous car that I had wrapped for 2+ years which I didn’t re-register. I had no issues during those two years nor when I traded it in.
