RFT equipped vehicles in the US don’t have a jack, wrench, compressor, warning triangle, first aid kit, or flat fix kit...if you have any of those things, you either ordered the spare tire kit, or your dealer threw them in.

The only tool you get in the G05 in the US market (if you don't have the spare tire kit)...is the item in the red box pictured below... the tow hook. I thought it was sad when BMW only gave the F models the tow hook and screw driver...now you don't even get the screwdriver.

I miss the "torch" in the glove box.

If you really want a set of tools...you can always order/purchase the "Driver Utility Set" from the BMW accessory catalog:

I believe this is the "old" standard kit found in EU/ROW vehicles along with warning triangle and vest which has now been discontinued for purchase.

Part database says that production was suspended 1/26/2019...but perhaps there’s some floating out there as the stock depletes or past owners held onto them prior to selling...and now there wives are telling them to clean out the clutter.

Best bet is to search used "BMW tools" on eBay you can get some great deals on complete tool kits from old E3* series BMW's from the wreckers yards. I made up two sets when i migrated on to the F series a few years ago and have retained then for the new cars as and when i have traded the old models in for a new one

I believe the corporate BMW theory is that Americans only know how to use a cell phone.

No I reckon it is the theory for all BMW owners worldwide. I remember when my E30 toolkit was the only decent tools in the household and was used to fix the plumbing electrics and the kids bicycles

I traded my X4 today. I used the screwdriver to remove the license plate.

When I get home, I go to get the screwdriver in the X6 and noticed they don’t even give us one anymore.

Correct, BMW couldn't afford to include the cheap screwdriver like they did in the past. I guarantee they hate to include the front license plate bracket.

I have a collection of 4 brand new ones from my cars over the years. This latest one include all the screws.

I have the same setup as the one in your picture. I've been wondering what the area that I've marked in orange is supposed to be for. It has two velcro strips, so must have been designed to hold something I assume.

There’s multiple BMW accessories that look like they would fit that space…like the tool kit that was mentioned above in post #27…or perhaps the safety vest. Or you could secure personal items like a pair of gloves or a foldable tarp.

The felt strips are there to prevent the cargo cover from rattling when it's stored in that spot.

Thank you Qsilver7 and BobsM3Coupe for your replies!

I was worried something was missing on my car. Seems that is not the case.

When I had to have my X3 35i towed last year because of a loose brake caliper (right after a brake job), the tow truck driver couldn't find the tow hook anywhere. Looked all through and under the cargo compartment. Fortunately he had one on his truck that fit the X3. Later, going through the X3 in preparation for a trade-in for an X5 I found the tow hook. It was at the bottom of the deep side compartment on the driver's (left) side of the cargo area, which I never knew it even opened. The 2021 X5 50i I now have, bought used, only has the tow hook--easily seen under the cargo floor panel--and a special lug nut socket.
