Similar to instructions on my AMG:

I know for some engines, guidance is also to not run at a constant rpm for extended periods, as part of the break-in process.

And how about Adaptive M suspension (I assume it's in standard) - maybe that is why you feel big difference comparing to previous one?

If you hit the Home button on the idrive, in the top left corner of the screen just above the map you will what looks like 3 dots. Touch that and that will allow you to customize your pages. Hope that helps.

For those of you in the US who got the laser lights, how noticeable is that stupid warning that we are required to have in the headlight assembly?

It’s really not that bad. Most people won’t even notice it unless you specifically point it out to them. You have to basically bend down a little in order to see it.

I was worried at first, but after seeing it person I was like “meh”.

These are some of the requested pictures. Note that I have LED lights and no leather upgrade on the dashboard.

The seat pictures are to show that the stitching do not look brown - not sure why the images uploaded and changed orientation... Weird.

Super...my car is showing as "dealer inventory" but my dealer says they haven't received it. BWM system has it as being delivered at around 1:00 pm yesterday, but the genius I spoke to said he doesn't even like telling people that because he's seen countless situations where the system shows that it's been delivered but the car doesn't actually show up until a week later. For all of its faults, you would think the tracking system would at least be able to accurately tell you when the car has arrived at the dealership.

Illinois, opted for no front plate. And yes, those are the 20" 740M wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All-Season RFTs.

Way early initial comments after only 30 miles of suburban and rush hour traffic:

1. Ride in Comfort mode is sublime. Perhaps it's the 20" wheels and comfortable sidewalls.

2. For better or worse, exhaust is barely noticeable.

3. First X5/BMW, so can't compare to earlier models. Size wise, feels as large as our Ford Explorer, but drives dramatically different. Takes up a lot of lane width. This is a big vehicle, but it drives like a dream.

4. Given comments 1 and 3 especially, having a hard time rationalizing a high-performance variant, i.e. a real M-car version (X5M). Just doesn't compute for me, coming from an AMG background.

If the standard interior leather choices were not so conservative (Boring) , I would have probably talked myself into a 40i.

I would want a nice chestnut or Porsche blue interior .

Wheel choices are meh. Ok .

Too many personal dealbreakers this go around

I could "settle" (more like my wife could) for a 40i if equipped with DHP, MPPK, and MPE...maybe someday.
