No adaptive drive mode on 2021
Just pick up 2021 x5
No adaptive button - not in menu either Is this a 2021 thing or canadian spec?

Not sure if this is country-specific: maybe one of the Canadian members will weigh in. |

I don't remember reading about it being missing in any market. Is it just a blank button where the Adaptive should be or a totally different layout? Can you post a picture of the Drive Mode buttons?

OP this is simply - can you post a picture of your console?
I have a 2021 40i and adaptive button is there. Additionally, i've coded it to default to adaptive instead of comfort @ startup using bimmercode. |

Are you sure your ASS isn't missing? That was removed on >2021 40i models because of the mild-hybrid setup now.
This is a 2021 from a dealer's lot in Canada: https://www.bmwvictoria.ca/vehicles/...sale_class=new

... what the hell is that Edit: Very interesting, looking at the BMW USA 2022 configurator, the adaptive button is gone (but doesn't appear to say HDC).

OP - Anything in settings for drive modes and what not? I'm curious what the manual says for your vehicle.

For canadian members. I have premium enhanced and MSport packages. Is it package dependent?

When you hit the HDC button, what happens? Do they maybe have the wrong label on it and goes into Adaptive?

The normal Hill Decent Control (HDC) button is missing to the right of the Park Brake, so I think its going to be HDC.
Looks like Adaptive mode is gone. The more I see this kind of stuff, the more glad I am to have a 2019 model. |

Kind of lame spot to place hill descent in my opinion. BMW would have been better off just leaving that button blank and not moving HDC. That area is too cluttered for such disparate modes in my opinion.
With the old setup, if you pressed the wrong button, the worse you can do is put yourself in ECO mode, but it won't change your speed. Now, if you accidentally pressed HDC (which is easy to do with the way the drive modes are bunched), it will immediately slow you down to a crawl if you're below a certain speed. Dumb. |

It is a MY22 change, here is a shot of the console from a MY22 on a dealer's lot. Maybe the OP has a MY22.

Looks like the US FY22 G05 models no longer have the "adaptive" button...
My lease for FY19 X5 is coming up - I have the adaptive button, HK stereo, etc. so I am debating whether to change or not... what a mess.
