Review my build - 2022 X5 xDrive40i M Sport
Hi there,
I see most people share their builds after they've placed their order or once the car has gone into production. I'm wondering if folks can share feedback on my build prior to us signing the paperwork. 2022 X5 xDrive40i Design M Sport Color Arctic Grey Metallic Wheels 21" M Y-spoke Bi-color Wheels, Style 741M with Performance Run-flat Tires Upholstery Black Vernasca Leather Trim Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim Packages + Options Driving Assistance Professional Package Executive Package Luxury Seating Package Parking Assistance Package M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers 4-zone automatic climate control Extended Shadowline Trim Any immediate thoughts? We're going to opt-out of the Climate Comfort Package as the heated wheel/arm rest and rear seats isn't a must. We're going for the Executive Package because the Laserlight headlights sound intriguing and I've read good things here (otherwise the Premium Package would be sufficient). Driving Assistance Professional Package, Parking Assistance Package, and Luxury Seating Package all seem like must-haves. Can the client advisor/dealer offer any additional options or is what you see on bmwusa what you get? Thanks! |

I have a simailar build and question. I found out there were a few options not on build:
- wireless charging - anthracite alcantara leather - upgrade stereo (default in US is 10 speaker HIFI) I was able to have my dealer add the first 2 to my build, but said upgraded speaker was not an option My build: (scheduled for Production Build Week 13 - March 28) -- 2022 - X6 401 (as a female I actually prefer the xLine, dealer kept trying to get me to change to MSport but I like the aluminum) -- Arctic Grey -- Extended Merino Black Leather -- Executive Package (mostly b/c I wanted the sky Panorama lights) -- Climate comfort package -- Parking Assist and Driving Assist Packages -- Luxury Seating (wanted massage seats - does anyone have an opinion on how good / strong they are/) -- All season tires (I wanted performance but I live in NY and my dealer talked me out of performance tires 3 times!) |

I've been enjoying heated steering wheel, center and door arm rest especially this winter season in NoVA

If you splurged for the M Sport package, you might as well get the Merino Leather. I initially went with the veransca leather because none of the dealer inventory had the merino. When I ordered, they got a few in with that leather and it just feels a world better.
I'd also get the tow hitch installed if you do any outdoor activities or ever want to haul/tow anything. Unless you find it unsightly, in which case don't get it. |

I'd add the tow hitch, given the value of that option. If you're going MSport, I'd also add in the extended shadow line option (I almost forgot that on mine)
I also agree on the merino leather. I did a lot of research on that and the color (Tartufo) and I eventually went with that. I didn't want to regret not having that when I had the option to add it and for a decent price.

I would add Merino leather seats. This is where you spend the most time in the car and Merino is softer and very comfortable. Downside is a little more maintenance - but if you take good care of it - it's not too bad.
With all the packages on the build - it will only cost $1k and it is totally worth it imho. Laser lights are nice but you're paying a lot for that executive package if that's all you care about. I do like the glass shifter and sky lounge but if you don't care for it - I'll pass on the executive package. |

Blue calipers look good with the blue laser lights. Merino leather is a no brainer to me. All season tires unless you will buy a winter tire set. 20" tires are more practical in Northeast weather and temperatures. All seasons in 21" have limited choice plus they are pricey. If you don't carry bicycles and lawn tractors, forget the tow hitch. Laser lights look cool but if you don't do a lot of night driving the power of extending your lighting at night will not matter. You can save 1,700. and use the cash for other toys.

Do yourselves a favor and get the spare tire if you're not getting the 45e. It's inexpensive and allows you to go to non-runflats later on if you want to.
