The car has been shown as in transit state for over a week, I called Genius today, the representative told me that the car was not even picked up, stilling waiting to be shipped to vpc, is that normal? I emailed my SA, I was told that the delivery date is close but he can not confirm yet. Anyone knows what happened? I am in CA btw

My vehicle has been in "AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT A carrier has been assigned to take care of your BMW." status since 11/4 and it is still sitting in SC!

Putting aside what Genius told you, all sounds normal. It is usually around two weeks to CA. Give your CA a call and then should be able to tell you where it is.

This happened to me, too. Mine was completed 10/31 and entered “Awaiting Carrier Assignment” status on 11/1 or 11/2. It sounds like they’re behind on transporting them. I know Thanksgiving can cause transit delays for about two weeks ahead of and behind the day itself. On top of that, the portal lags the actual status of the car by several hours to over a day, at times.

hmmm, my car has a production date as 10/22. I have not heard anything back from my CA yet.

Yep, same here. Genius said mine arrived on the 8th at Richmond port. Looks like you might be picking up yours at Roseville also? SA told me they are short on truck drivers but expect to arrive at Roseville next Tuesday, 16th…

My car was finished last saturday, has been in "waiting carrier assignment" since. genius line said that it was supposed to be delivered to my dealer on 11/9, but they haven't seen it.

I'm going to be a little annoyed if it's not in town by next weekend (I'm in Atlanta, so it's not very far from Spartanburg. If I have to drive up there to get it myself I'd consider it)

picked the car from LA and drive back to San Jose. Car is bigger than I thought and it can sit next to the f80. Garage is full now.

I'm surprised you were able to get one from Chico. They looked like a small dealer when I was shopping. My X5M50i from Roseville finally hit the assembly line. Only two options I ordered were removed so far...

Finally, the status on My Garage page just changed to 'In transit' a few min ago (Was still At the port an hour ago)! This matches what Genius and SA told me that mine should arrive at Roseville today.

More than likely it is for the touchscreen delete. It just needs software to be installed. It will be shipped to your dealer, unless doing PCD, for them to do it.

10/5 - Got the production number on the same day I ordered
10/7 - Production begins (couldn’t be more than 4 days, if I recall correctly. Status got stuck her for the rest of the way, was a bummer for me because I quite enjoy looking at change of status knowing what it’s doing)
10/22 - Dispatched from factory
10/27 - In transit (on the train)
11/10 - At the port (Richmond port. Note: I believe it arrived at Richmond port on 11/8, which is what Genius told me, but it took 2 days to process and check in at the Processing center before the status changed from In transit to At the port)
11/16 - In transit again (on the truck)
11/16 - At the dealership

I find that BMW Genius (called them twice) is pretty accurate in my case vs others I had read of their experience.

Thanks, that gives me hope I might get it next month. Section 179! Mine just updated to awaiting carrier and no deletes that I can see yet. I ordered from Roseville too.
