States will not have jurisdiction here; this is a NHTSA call. Hopefully BMW will enable this in a future update. I had it coded on my 540 and it was very cool. The lights on my 2021 M550 are basically static without the adaptive enabled.

Each OTA update has the possibility to reset the logic back to factory spec, so if you DO code it, you may need to redo that with each OTA update...while that's not an absolute, the relevant module is often a target for some of the OTA updates, and then the whole module gets updated to factory. As a result, if you pay someone to do it, you MAY need to repay them each time you get an OTA update. That's the main reason why I've not done it. I also haven't been driving at night where they would be more useful. Otherwise, I'd spend the money. |

I know it can be coded because someone from the forums (who doesn't seem to be around anymore) did it remotely on my prior 540. Was just hoping Bimmercode could do it as, with OTA updates now, seems more likely the change would be overwritten by an update. Oh well.

Everyone is saying and has known for years this can be coded. It just cannot be coded with BimmerCode as it can't FA/VO code, which is what they were asking.

Well, just read a bit more on this, and while the law allows it, it gives the regulation agency two years to figure out the testing and certification testing of individual systems! So, it could take up to 2-years to actually get implemented legally...this is somewhat of a disappointment.
