Called Genius line yesterday

production scheduled actually 11/24. Completion scheduled for W51. Said estimated arrival at dealership is first week of January give or take a week. Should know whether hit by any deletions between December 12-18.

Yeah, scheduled for production. I had also emailed them though that takes a day or two for them to respond and here is what they wrote:

Your 2022 BMW X5 xDrive45e is estimated to begin production the week of December 20, 2021 (Week 51). Please note, all dates are estimates and subject to change.

I def got a little more information over the phone and the rep mentioned it's about 10 days to complete production and go into QC etc. I'm pretty sure this means my W51 car will most likely be delivered mid-January.

You won't know if you got hit by 6UY until the VIN is assigned and it's already in production, so late December.

Seems yours and mine are both probably going to get built W51. Lemme know what the Genius line tells you.

What wireless charging? Wasn't even listed for 2022 at all. That would be a nice surprise.

I had the wireless charging as an option initially but when I looked today the option was gone :/ It’s strange because my other options like the individual color and my getting rid of the blue calipers has not updated yet. I think I should reach out to my CA.

Weirdly enough, my vehicle (which has been on order since July) just "gained" Wireless Charging. I have taken snapshots periodically and I just noticed that in the Standard Features section, I no longer have Enhanced B/T and Smartphone In and now I have Wireless Charging.

Wow, you placed your order in July? What is causing the delay in the production of your vehicle?

Who knows. It is an individual color and has a B&W radio on it.
Here's a thread about it. https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1872268

Good luck with yours. Thanks for alerting us to the wireless charging issue.

I just spoke with genius and I was told exactly same as you.

Originally schedule for 11/24 week 48 but now week 51. Week 51 is 12/19 to 12/25. Expected delivery date first week or mid Jan.

No deletes or addition at this moment but will come to know once in production.

Finally, My Garage updated, my timeline for the X6:

11/12 - Order Placed, Received Production Number
11/24 - Scheduled for Production
12/06 - Production Begins (12/20 is the date I decoded)

So ramblingpolak & vipalshah14 check for updates & hopefully you'll get a prod date in a day or so.

My order originally went to Scheduled for Production on 11/20, with a prod date of 12/6. Was stuck there until this morning…now it's at Entering Assembly Line. Should move quickly now.

Built last night, currently at "Quality Checks", no 6UY

Crazy times....paid full MSRP (first time ever) and excited that I am actually getting what I paid for.

Somewhat related I figure I'd ask if 45e folks are planning to install L2 charging and which one.

After some deliberation I ended up ordering the ChargePoint Flex and planning to do a hardwired install on 50A breaker.

It's def not the cheapest as they didn't offer any discount this holiday season but it seemed to be a quality unit that will have some curb appeal if we decide to sell our house and "future proof" for whatever we buy in a few years (likely full EV).

I'm looking at:

$700 for the charge point
$520 permit fees
$675 install plus $23/ft of extra conduit. My worse case might be $950 or so.

Doing it now to take advantage of IRA 8911 tax credit (30% discount basically).

We did the same thing for the exact same reasons...I think its a valid plan.

$700 for Chargepoint
$300 for electrical wire/breaker
$TBD install labor

Went with 40amp circuit...

Eventually, we will have a Rivian along with the 45e so we opted for the Grizzl-e Duo for $899 so that both cars can be charged at the same time. The electrician is installing a 14-50 receptacle on a 50A breaker as and I'm also having him turn the 10-30 unused dryer receptacle into a 14-50 as well so that we can have the option for charging inside the garage and outside just in case the husband gets that electric motorcycle down the line. The electrician is charging $490 and is in the middle of the install as I type this. We are trying to get the tax credit before the year ends too.

My 125A main panel is full so installer is planning to swap two single pole 20A for a 20/50/50/20 quad. All our major appliances are gas besides fridges and dishwasher so hoping we don't need any other panel upgrades.
