You guys are scaring me about Ventilated Seats and how bad they are
Read some forum posts about ventilated seat and seems like everyone doesn't like them.
I added ventilated seat to my build for $500 CAD, just cause my family and friends telling me how awesome they are in general. But, seems like BMW ventilated seats are not so great. Is it worth to call my dealer to take that out or should I just have it for the hack of it? I don't care so much about $500 but if it makes the seat stiffer, I am thinking it's better to take it out. Any thoughts? |

If you get them, it would be a big mistake. I had VS and the fan for the ventilation was barely negligible. Even the BMW Genius shrugged his shoulders and was unable to answer any questions about the seats. Bottom line...DON'T GET THEM.

Luxury Seating Package was a must have. I find it very comfortable..... My daughter in law said it perfectly with a grin.... “excessive” after a short ride with the massage and heat functions on.
Cannot speak to the ventilated seats yet.... not much use when you are in the deep freeze

I think the additional "firmness" of the ventilated seats is the cause of concern by some. I had a hard time finding a dealer who had an instock vehicle with multi contour seats and another one with the ventilation so I could compare them. I decided to go with the non-ventilated but it's a personal preference. I had no interest in the massaging function.

Love the seats. Super comfortable. Massage is great.
Understand, these are "ventilated" seats...they are not "A/C" seats. They will not be cold in the summer. All they do is ventilate. |

Massage function is great, particularly on drives of an hour or more. I wouldn't buy a car now without.
Also, Audi and Merc. massage seats only activate the back cushion. BMW seats have some bottom cushion activation also which is key to avoiding leg muscles stiffness on long drives. |

ventilated seats are loud on level 3 but that's nothing new. they work pretty well overall. I used mine today since it went from being in the 40's to 70's so it was hot relative to yesterday.
