DIY - halogen to xenon error removal
DIY
rememeber: I am not responsible if any damage occurs to your car. price reduced to $180! ---- 1- Screw relay onto hole behind bumper (hole is a plastic plate underneath headlight, where the arrow shows). this keeps the relay high and away from water (even when it is a water resistant relay). 2 - Connect fuse end to battery 3- Connect round connector to ground 4 - Disconnect pin #3 from headlight connector by applying pressure on the little hole above it with a needle 5 - Connect bmw pin from harness in the place of pin #3 6 - Connect original pin #3 to the last wire and tape it up - remove original fog light and brake plastic piece that separate pins (so that the connector fits -very easy to do, look at the last picture, thats not the original fog light, it's for illustartion purposes) - place foglight back in it's housing - connect socket from harness to fog light - connect 27w bulbs to the original fog light socket and adjust the fog light harness so that the bulbs are held onto the bumper facing towards the engine. (don't worry, they only turn on if you press the fog light button) If you need to know how to do the initial swap of the lights refer to this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...+halogen+xenon

First of all, Parachute, you are THE MAN!
Secondly, my 323i did not come with OEM fogs. I just finished reading that entire 28 page thread in which you figured this out. Basically, my question is, if I wired this with the relay and added the fogs in line as you suggested, would it still work? What I mean to say is, if I add the foglights inline and add the housings to the bumper, will I be able to install xenons AND fogs (that light up with the headlights) without ANY error? If so, that is incredible! |

Awesome man! The two things I most regretted not getting in my car all tied up into one nice and easy mod! Dude, you are the MAN.
Euro Xenons: Ordered! Fogs: Lemme see if I can find that old FS thread! |

Hey Parachute, I just got some projectors and NON-oem ballast. They are made by Osram. So yeah, i did the wiring and everything for the projector conversion 5+6 together and ground to 2. My HID's flicker really fast. They would work fine for about 10seconds and then do that.. Will your harness fix this? If so.. LET ME KNOW! thanks for your help

If I can throw in a question as well for Parachute.
Will your harness leave the fog lights on all the time? Let's say leaving the switch on 1) auto 2) parking light |

in auto mode, when low beam automatically turns on, so do the fog lights in parking light mode, only angel eyes light up, no fog lights you can also set up this harness so that the 2 27w bulbs provided turn on with the low beams and hide them behing your bumper with a housing i don't provide. and you will have OEM operation of all your lights ERROR FREE!

thank you parachute,
the last picture explains alot better. I think it starts to make sense now so my question is do I take the blue color fog lamp plug from your hardware and plug directly into my fog lamps? I don't need to worry about the existing fog lamp wiring, correct?

I've noticed Parachute has a built-in fuse, will it help the over heating problem?

My kit doesn't. I do not sell it though. It's a simple black box with everything built in. 8A fuse with a 10A relay that supports 12 lines. The relay is the most expensive thing.
For foglights make sure you use 35W, or 55W max. Don't go 100W bulbs. |
