Their primary function is to light up junctions but they also serve to help illuminate a wider field of view when you are manoeuvring at low speed.

I see what looks like the corner light but don’t see anything but an empty hole with a flashlight of any sign of any sort of bulb.
On mine it sure looks like it’s missing the light assembly on a dec buy. |

So do they function like the F15 fog lights?

Here you go. You can see the LED in the reflection.

I was going to wait for the big update but check engine light came on. They found the problem, but it takes 10 days for the part to get here from Germany. In the meantime they're going to open a PUMA case and prepare to do a software upgrade and IRAP once the part comes in. Hopefully it all works out. They seem very confident with the info I provided from this forum.

I'm taking our X5 in tomorrow morning to get the new grill shutters installed (they failed), replace the passenger side interior front door lock button surround (it is loose and the corner is sticking out...its sharp), and update the software to 03/2019.30 to fix our CarPlay issues.
I'm also bringing the info from this thread with me to see if we can get BMW NA to remote into the car to activate the cornering lights. Wish me luck!
