Grand Floridian. Its killing me my X5 is sitting out there dirty. I sprayed the salt off but it needs a hand washing bad.

I guess that would have been too much of a coincidence but I really haven’t seen all that many new ones on the road. I was going to ask whoever it was if they posted here but they were gone when I got back out from checkin. I know what you mean about the dirt, I hate letting mine get like that, too. I’m back home and the first thing I did was get it washed.

I haven't seen any new BMW X5 from Pa to Florida. I had a M4 and myself run the left lane together.
At the Grand Floridian, I walked the parking lot looking at what was there. A X3M parked by me. It cost to park here every day, even as a guest of the GF. |

As is mentions, it will only assist in the action once the driver initiates it and there is a place to go. I'm sure it wouldn't smart enough to stop a person from driving off a cliff but it also may not help them do it if there is no lane/area/shoulder to drive on.

I missed a few questions on this initial thread. My slow speed brake assist does NOT stop the vehicle if you are at parking lot speeds. Many other vehicles have a feature where if you are parking and the sonar senses a object at the last/most closest point, it will auto brake the vehicle to a stop. So far our X5’s doesn’t do this very standard feature. This is very different from what I described in this thread at high speeds.

Very relevant indeed. Since my 530 with ACC saved me once from running into a traffic jam on the highway I have always selected this option on my new cars to have high speed automatic braking function.

The 2019's in the US do not have the automatic breaking in the PDC. The option to turn it on does not exist, at least the last time I checked but it could have been added in an update.

Wow. SO Glad that you and the family are safe. Usually, I am replying to similar scenario stories with "So sorry to hear about your car's damage. At least you and the family are safe..."
When this technology works, it somehow overrides the occasional annoying technology blips we experience. Thank you for sharing and truly am GLAD you survived and lived to tell about it. Cheers, -Tony
