Question: Owners of X5M or X6M who protects their paint?
Just picked my 2021 X5M I'm Looking doing the Full nose, full bumper, A pillars, and lower rocker front to end. fender flares. Then Ceramic Coating everything.
Question is this worth doing? I had my last vehicle CC and as far as resale value it was worth nothing. The Cost of this job using Xpel and GYEON CC $4500 Anyfeed back would be appreciated. |

As I lease, I get a new factory paint job every 3 years. Paint chips are normal wear and tear at lease turn in.

PPF and coating isn't going to do much for resale value. You should look at how long you plan on keeping your car for.
I lease my cars and typically just install PPF on the front bumper and put on a coating that will last me the 3 years. Do I get my money back on it? No. But I'm a detail freak and this keeps me at ease. |

Yes it worth doing. But you have to make sure that the installer is good and reputable. It does protect against rock chips and very minor scuffs. The more you drive it the more chances of more rock chips happening so the sooner you get it done the better.
I picked up my X5M yesterday. And drove it straight from the dealer to my detailer for full PPF I told them "If you can cover it, cover it" and they laughed as they know I'm very anal about my cars. Also ceramic coating of wheels and brakes etc. I'd highly suggest you do the piano black trim on the car as well. I had the dealer leave all the plastics on and didn't prep the car. I don't lease so it's a big purchase but plan on keeping the car for 6-8 years. |

This detailer is very well known and does cars and Suv worth far more than my vechicle so i'm feeling good about that. I was looking for feedback on pricing?
I'm also getting with that price the front windows xpel 15% UV resitant tint. |

Worth is up to the individual. PPF has its pros with protecting the paint but cons with having ugly edge lines that can vary drastically from installer to installer. There is also the cost which you will never recoop back when you sell the car.

This detailers work is great, he had several cars that he just completed and I could not tell there was a PPF installed and where it ended.
he has been in bussiness 15 years. In the shop today Lambo MB GTC53 Audi R8 Bentaga I guess no one wants to disclose what they paid to have this type of work done on their X5M or X6M. Just curious to see if my price quote was in line with what others have paid for similar work. |

My car arrived yesterday at port, once I receive it I’ll drive it straight to the detailer for full body PPF and window tints. My current car F85 X5M I passed and didn’t do ppf after 5 years the LBB looks horrible with all the rock chips and people banging their doors on my car at parking spaces.

No disadvantage. You'll only see the PPF if you do a partial so for example if you do the hood partially and not the entire piece, then you'll notice the edge line.

We only did front end and high impact area on my wife's Panamera. Her car then got a scratch in a couple weeks by the gas door (from shopping cart, my guess). Needless to say, that section did not have PPF... So now I'm doing full car only, even if that means save up some more.

Unless you plan to keep the car for 5 or more years, I just can't justify spending an extra $4k+ on PPF.
Kind of like buying and blowing up fireworks.
