Received a $3250 credit for my 2022 X6 for being a PenFed member.

FYI:
You should read the actual terms of the BMW Military Incentive. Being a PenFed member does not qualify a person without them being able to provide proof through I’d.me that the buyer is military. Yes, the dealer may screw up and give it to you, so you will win. However, when the dealer gets audited by BMW in the future, those who the dealer can’t prove were military will result in BMW forcefully taking those incentive $’s back from the dealer. Not from you, but the dealer. Just be informed, particularly if you care at all about personal integrity. |

Agreed with the exception of calling the PenFed rebate "the military incentive" when, as you note, functionally it is not.

Just repeating what BMW calls it.

essentially the "program" code stacking is the same, but that doesn't make them functionally the same discount, nor apply the requirements of one program (military id.me) to the penfed discount (member > 60 days) You go to the PenFed site, apply, and you get a certificate with this text on it:

They should know what to do but, yes, it is a Type J incentive.

Why toss out insults over an incentive description? Dude, seriously, have just a stitch of self-awareness: you're getting pissy over the explanation of a rebate.
Repeat that to yourself: "I turtleboy have reached my highest maturity aspiration: being pissy & whiney over a rebate description" Let's just chalk that post up to you're having a bad day, deal? |

Have fun with your little games. I'm seriously done now with you now since you are my ignore list but have at it should it make you feel like the better man. Edit: In all fairness I should add this. I believe you do not always start out with the goal of misleading folks but it seems it is your inability to admit when you are wrong that causes you to continually post bad/misleading/confusing/unrelated/etc. information. If admitting you made a mistake is that bad for your ego then maybe just leave the thread rather than going on and on hoping someone actually buys into what you are posting. In the end it would be much better for the forum, its members and for yourself.

Sorry to hear it is delayed but yes, take advantage of it. Did they give any info as to why it is delayed, a specific feature/option?

That is the way all dealerships will operate. If you didn't meet the eligibility, in this case being a PenFed member for 60 days, then you wouldn't be able to get the certificate. Other than making sure the name on the certificate is correct they don't need to do any other verification.

My dealer is refusing to honor the PenFed promo, because the order form clearly states it's for 2021 models only (not 2022), see screenshot in the post #75 here. They're asking me to produce them a form that shows 2022. Can you guys clarify how you got that done?

Edit: It could be that TrueCar hasn't updated the template yet since printing a certificate directly from their site also doesn't have MY22. See attached. It is highly unlikely that BMW ended the military incentive starting with MY22, your dealer should contact BMWFS to verify that the Type J incentive is available for MY22.

If your dealer is refusing, I'm sure another dealer will accept your business. You can ask upfront if they know how to handle the PenFed discount. One of the dealers I contacted even asked me if I was a PenFed member upfront on our first email and was giving advice on how to maximize my incentives. |

My dealer's accounting team just processed it. It took them a bit to figure out but they eventually got there. They should be able to put the code through their system and get it - it's no skin off their back - they get reimbursed by BMW so they should not have a financial reason to want to reject it. It's more likely the extra effort to figure it out is causing them to say "no." I would just be adamant - say you called BMW NA and PenFed and they said it's fine… you know others they got it etc. direct them that it's a type J etc. |
