Hi, first-time, long-time. I ordered a '22 X5 xDrive at the end of December, and added it to my garage to track the process—but I’m worried about how to see or track any deletions. I looked through the threads and couldn’t find instructions, so apologies if I missed that.

In following posts the past couple months I know there are some to watch out for, but I’m not sure how I’ll know it’s happening.

When I look in My garage\Track My BMW it shows all my selected options, but without the alpha-numeric codes that it looks like are helpful to know what’s actually being put on the car. Do those codes show at a later step? I’m currently at “Scheduled for Production”.

The things I’m worried about are: Touchscreen deletion, wireless CarPlay, and (after seeing a post somewhere) power lift gate.

My option packages are: Drivers Assistance Pro, Luxury Seating, Premium, Parking Assistance, XLine.

Are there others I should be worried about?

Your Sales Associate should be able to tell you and I have seen some 'VIN Decode" links somewhere

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your order. Should be no need to worry about the touchscreen, that is no longer an issue and the timeframe for the deletion period has passed.

Once you go into the Production Begins status a VIN will be assigned and the parts ordered/allocated. Your build shouldn't change from that point on (although we saw with the touchscreen delete it did) and then you can use the link above if on Chrome or the link below for Safari to see the detail of your build.

How do you know what all the codes/numbers mean? I ordered the heated steering wheel option in my 40i m sport but it isn't showing on the build. It is showing 4 zone climate which I didn't order but maybe that comes standard with the premium package? Also interested in carplay and touch screen.

Many of the codes are in the pricing/order guide. If you ordered the Climate Comfort package the 4 zone is in there. I think though we have seen a few others say they got the 4 zone and didn't order it but not positive. You have nothing to worry about in regards to the touchscreen as that time period has past but not sure if we have seen CarPlay deletes or not.

Thanks for the confirmation on the codes being the ones in the ordering guide. I should decode the VIN in the browser, and match every code to the guide, right? If there’s a delete or weird change, the code won’t show on the guide? i.e., during the touchscreen deletes, I’d see a code that wasn’t on the guide and call my SA to investigate?

I don't think all codes are in the guide but they may be. You can search the forum and use Google to find info on those that are not. You can give you SA a call but doubtful they would be of any help.

Yes your are correct, when you select the premium package , 4 zone climate control gets added automatically

However I also have just the heated steering wheel and armrest option and without the climate comfort package , it shows up under the added options as "Htd Fr Seats Armrests / S Whl"

Maybe you should reconfirm with your CA just to be sure

Does anyone know what Deletion of Backup Assistant means? It looks like part of the 800 dollars Parking assistance Package. But I am not sure what's been deleted. Thanks.

It remembers the last 165 feet that you drove and can reverse that path. It controls the steering and the driver control the gas and brake. I use it to back out of my garage.
