"Dual" exhaust question
I've owned my 45e for most of a year now and don't believe I've ever seen any exhaust coming from the right tailpipe, while the left blows like a chimney when the ICE is being revved.
BMW seems to like complicated valved exhaust systems, but am I missing something else here? Are there certain conditions that have to be met for the right side to be open?

Even for the M50i, the right valve doesn't open immediately upon selecting sport mode. It only opens up when my engine reaches 4k rpm. With that said, I have Bimmerlink and opened the valve permanently (removing fuse 203). |

In stock trim, the right valve stays close until you hit a certain boost level.
There are a few ways to program it to open. Bimmercode + removing fuse or unplugging the valve and taping it up. Via MHD / BM3 to code the valve to stay open in sports mode regardless of engine revs / boost levels. |
