Question Control Arm snapped on ‘23 X5

The lower control arm on my brand new X5 snapped. The shiny arm just snapped in what looks like a clean break. The car was driving just a few feet from its parking spot and I do not recall driving over any large bumps or potholes. Has anyone ever heard of such a situation? Any thoughts? The car is under warranty, but I am worried about what this might mean for the car and whether any repair would be complete? Any suggestions? What other sort of damage might have occurred along with the control arm such as the front frame, axle, etc?

If serious at all, the car hit something. Control arm don’t take much force in the direction of bending or twist. All force direction is always along the “links” directions, compress or stretch. This is true even in high speed cornerning it hitting a reasonable large pot hole. That is why suspension components can be so narrow for such weight. And if it is aluminum, it doesn’t bend much, it snap off if the car hit something
