oem rear struts need replaced. time for KW3?
The time has come. I bought my G05 as a CPO and reached out to my dealer (Sewell) in Plano TX to have it looked at before warranty was up. Long story short my SA was out and I told him I would wait when he was back. Fast forward he is still out so another SA reached out to me. Asks for my my estimated mileage and I tell her the exact because I have the app. 50042. They want a $260 diagnostic fee just to look at it. Anyways that’s the fun stuff other than I found out the CPO doesn’t cover shit. The good news is I have a independent local shop I have used for my F15 to and called them. No problem bring it in. No cost. Had them do the spark plugs and oil. The sound is my rear strut. Needs replaced. Recommendation is both rears. $5k to do both with oem. I can get them to install the kw3 kit with buying the kit myself and it would set me back total of $5200. Do it? Do you have the KW’s? Thoughts? Feedback? Thanks guys!

Yeah it sucks. The dealer is horrible. I trust my independent shop.

What is the syndrome? Rear is multi link, so spring and damper don’t provide geometry constraints. Is rear oscillating over bump?

Did they show you a written document from BMW that stated the struts are not covered? I have had arguments over warranty coverage on several cars. Long story short - dealer/service advisor/manager said my issue(s) were not covered. I made them read the agreements with me and show me where the agreement say my issue is not covered. When they can't find it they, begrudgingly, take care of it in warranty. Don't believe them until they show you in writing. They have the documents.

I enjoy my KWV3 but my family prefers a less bumpy ride haha. It’s not horrible like track mode and fully adjustable. I enjoy it and would recommend it.

Ahhh your name. Pnw. I love as born and raised there. I am not sure if the family is going to love it but I’m sure they will be ok. I have my car set to drive in sport mode for the stock suspension currently and love how it drives vs the floaty comfort mode. To me it’s not comfortable. lol.
