Dash Preset Button Issues

Are any of you guys having trouble setting certain functions to the preset/shortcut buttons?

As an example, my daughters frequently leave the rear seat AC controls in funky settings, so I tried to set a preset to show the rear AC control screen on the idrive. It won't let me do it. Keeps giving me an error to the effect that function cannot be set/assigned (“unable to save”).

Is there any list of functions that can/can't be set to the lower dash present buttons?

Such would be of interest as I could not use a favorite button to toggle iDrive 7 and CarPlay.

Yes, I've seen this too. Many functions are not able to be saved as a favorite. It's annoying.

Older versions of idrive were like this also, so not surprised, it is a somewhat limited list of things you can preset, unfortunately not everything which you would think would be easy for them to do if they wanted.

Weird because I was able to save sync ac as a present (as some others have done on this forum). So why are some ac functions saveable but not others. Arghh.

Other than radio presets,what can be saved in these locations? I wanted weather map and that can’t.

Phone numbers and navigation destinations are frequently so used.

On my F15, I could save certain points of the settings but that has not worked out for the ones I wanted to use on the G05.

By the way, has anyone noticed a little bit of cheapness about the preset buttons? It seems like they aren't very solid... like there's a floating layer that isn't secure.

On our F15 (and other BMWs), my presets always include 1) Full screen/split screen switch 2) Sport display 3) Navigate home 4) Driver profile
