On the phone with bmw. They said my X5 was at the port 12/5 (I saw it update “at the port” online on 12/7) they said 15 days to arrive at Oxnard, Ca. Doesn’t that sound like a long time?

They fill up trains to the west coast, so depends a bit on how long it takes them to fill the train and if you were ready early or late in the load before it goes, then a week of actual transport or so - I think most people report about 2+ weeks give or take.

Joe - same story here. Although, I shifted to QC last Tuesday and was stuck there up until late yesterday (finally changed to Awaiting Carrier).

You're not alone ;-)

Does the grey ash trim have a brown/tan hint to it?

I have the same leather / trim combo.
The photos I've seen all look as if the trim has beige undertones, which I find disappointing. Going by the configurator, I was expecting a true grey.
Please let us know how it looks in person.

Why not to make one from scratch?
It should be faster.
I was given this same explanation by a Genius - manufacturing will check the vehicle into QC and it will quickly move on.... unless they were missing a part(s) during assembly. Then it gets marked to be set aside pending the install of the part. No real way to know what caused the holdup.

Given the number of us seeing prolonged visits to QC, sounds like they are running into shortages here/there.

My week 48 went through some of the same inexplicable delays (e.g., 5 days in QC) but eventually got delivered last weekend (in NY). I will pick it up on Friday. Some not very good photos are atttached.

It took 2 days from when it left factory to when it arrived at dealer.

I went down to the dealership today to drop off black painted grill and exhaust tips, I can confirm that the ash grain silver grain trim in person has tan/beige tones to it in person, doesn't look anything like the online configurator. Another thing I noticed, is that if you try to build an X7, and choose the grey silver trim, the online configurator actually shows it with tan/beige like color but not on the X5,l online configurator.

In the end, my honest opinion is although the trim is deceiving in person, it looks great with the all black leather. I will post pics this Friday when ai pick up with the black grill and exhaust tips. Heres a teaser

Thanks! They should rename it "taupe" instead of silver grey.
