Auto STOP START kicks in at 2-4 mph coming to stop????

Even if car is in motion *coming to a stop* like in 2-4.moh i feel car goes into auto stop start mode .... it wasnt kicking in this fast before..... anyone else experience that

Yes, this is exactly the same behavior I have experienced too. It is very annoying at a stop sign, because usually I don't come to a dead stop when there's no car in other directions. But the car will cut off engine as I slow down enough and started it again almost immediately.

Get a coder to coded it off

Yep, if the car feels like your going to stop soon it will cut the engine as you're moving.

I actually don't mind it. Its better than stoping, engine off for 1/2 second, go again.

At least now, the engine gets around 3-5 seconds off which makes it fuel efficient.

Exactly As soon as your getting to stop it shuts off... so annoying... but it seems my car built a new driving pattern of some sort because in month it wasnt shutting off until i stop completely now its pre stop slowing down to stop it shuts off.... i deff need a coder man....

I would Start worrying about this just before my warranty Stops. Let it do the magic inside that engine block because this is what BMW wants us to do!

Its better to keep the engine busy....after all, we are just a few years away from those EVs to take control and make us obsolete!

It sucks that it stop from 5 mph and still rolling ... driving down.... not even fully stopped... cant wait to code it off... destroys the truck power and accelration so annoying

For a quick fix, set your sport individual settings to all comfort, so its the same as comfort settings, if thats what you like, and just press the sport button each time you start the car, and it wont operate stop/start anymore, da daaa 1

The whole point of the new mild hybrid on the 40i is the have the auto stop kick in earlier and start pretty much on command with no wear and tear on the system.

It must be some speed threshold, not a time threshold. It's certainly designed that way as my 2018 G30 did the same thing. Save as much fuel as possible. I find it the most annoying in a parking space and end up needing to crawl a little bit.

That works. Bimmercode can code it off or bimmercode can also code to start in sport mode every time.

Yes, ASS is very annoying especially comes to the stop sign.

Bimmercode can program it to remember last setting. So for me, it's OFF by default now.

Bimmercode has an easy to use interface for people who do not wish to get into the technical aspect of coding. It does have an expert mode to do more in depth coding but it still doesn't allow all of the coding options that an Esys like system does. I would think for the large majority of people Bimmercode will give them the opportunity to easily code all of the options they want.
