Has anyone's actual production week moved versus the dealer slot? I am slotted for week 5, but my dealership told me it could move up, so wanted to see if anyone has experienced that. Thank you

Think of your order as being a reservation...you might book now for a cruise next summer, or a flight tomorrow. It all depends on what order slots your dealer has, and when he is willing to assign your order to it. Then, throw in holidays, and shipping time, whether that's by truck, ship, or rail...that has to get reserved, too, and they don't always run every day. Pop a snow storm or flood into the equation, and it can be hard to give an exact time, let alone supplier issues. The factory makes the body in house, but most other things come from suppliers spread out all over the world. A hiccup in any one of those, and it can throw things off.

Yesterday, mine changed to 'At the Port', which is odd because it is backwards one step. BMW Genius said that they expect it to be on a truck today. Oddly, they have an ETA of next week for dealer arrival even though the Renton, WA VPC is located only 30 minutes from the dealer. The CA also called and said that they expected the vehicle to arrive this week.
Here is an updated timeline: • Ordered 10/20 • Sched for Prod 10/30, week 49 • Prod began 11/13 • Estimated completion changed 11/21. Was Dec 2, now Nov 25 per automated 800# • Entered assembly line 11/25 beginning of the day • Awaiting carrier assignment 11/25 end of day • Dispatched from factory 11/30 • In Transit 12/6 (scheduled to arrive at Renton, WA VPC on 12/22) • At the Port 12/28 (this is a step backwards in the timeline) Last edited by rockhead; 12-29-2020 at 09:50 PM.. |

My first delivery date was November 2019. It was delayed until jan 2020. Beginning of December met colleague collected his (ordered 2 months before me). And the sales rep told him mine arrived too. I wasn't expecting it all and was really happy offcourse with delivery one month earlier. Called the dealer and they said the car wasn't at the dealership but arrived in Zeebrugge. Big deception. Finally got a call Friday 20/12 at 16h that it arrived at the dealership. To late to arrange papers and a weekend to send mails to the insurance etc. Picked it up 24/12 as a Christmas present. Apparently some cars are just standing on the dock waiting for pick up. The dealership told me they can't change the order. I would try to find out if it arrived in Ireland because if it hasn't they won't be able to deliver earlier. It takes a lot of spamming by phone and mail to speed the process. |

Is anyone able to order 45e's recently or is everyone else on stop sale as well? I've had 2 dealers tell me they can give me an allocation but can't guarantee when it will be built if ever.

Hey everyone,
I placed an order with my dealer last week but my salesperson has not yet put the order into BMW's system(there's no place for me to track the order). Is this normal? |

It sounds like they do not have a current allocation to place the order against. You will be waiting until they get an allocation for a 45e. Then they can put in the order and give you a number to track it by. |

new post on an older thread -
my 45e was at the port/VPC, Oxnard, CA, last week on Mar18th. On the 19th status went into "In Transit" and it's been like that for 7 days. Isn't that a long time to go to Orange County ? Maybe if it's pulled off the train but still at the VPC, the in-transit status also includes time waiting for the truck hauler to load it on?? My SA just says ..we're seeing the same status you see on BMW My Garage. Update, I added a thread about what I learned. Really the In Transit status was part of the train transit, and it was never really at Oxnard. in fact cars to CA aren't going there now off the train - instead they go to San Bernardino Last edited by leightos; 03-30-2021 at 01:59 AM.. |
