BMW ConnectedDrive Troubleshooting Question
We took delivery of our 2023 BMW X5 on Tuesday, Dec. 20th from the PCD in SC. Everything was awesome, except our time with the Product Specialist… we were not able to complete any of the ConnectedDrive phone integration instruction because we could never get the car to receive the security code request. The specialist advised that the software was updating and that we should be able to hook it up later with no problem. We drove to see family, then drove the 6 hours back home. Last night upon our arrival home, I tried to get the ConnectedDrive up and running, again with no success. I eventually called the BMW Genius support line. The Genius identified the issue- apparently he believes our car’s software didn’t fully update as there is NO privacy settings where it should be- this is necessary for the car to allow our phones to hook up. He also advised that we would have to take it to a dealer to be flashed- the problem being our servicing dealer is almost 2 hours away (one way) and appointments are weeks out. I detailed all this to ask- does anyone on the forum have past experience with resolving this issue without going to the dealership? I will go ahead and say that we tried everything he could think of, including returning the software to factory settings and wiping all of the personalization we had done at PCD with no success

unfortunately sounds like a trip to the dealership. there are only a few folks I’ve come across knowledgeable with the system that updates the i-Level that they’re comfortable to do it at home. I don’t think any remote coding offerings out there cover i-Level
