Do you still get rear wheel steering as standard if you option the air?

IMO - Air presents a really interesting option then. The difference btw air and suspension pro is mainly the roll stabilization, right? I believe air is also known for being more stable overall due to its ability to have more range of motion? So more comfortable, rear wheel steering - close enough in handling - best option??

The standard M60 suspension is more similar to the pro suspension in how it operates. The air suspension cannot be combined with the pro suspension. I would be careful choosing a performance vehicle with the air suspension setup, it may be softer than you like and def offer the worst handling, but will provide the most comfort.

Yes I know air cannot be combined with the pro setup.

The old DHP setup added both rear wheel steering and roll stabilization.

Now you get rear steering no matter the suspension choice.

So the delta btw air and the pro setup is less in that they both get rear wheel steering.

You are correct the delta will be less. Albeit most likely minuscule, this is due to the effects of spring rate and damping for example, which will have a larger impact to handling over rear steering. Even with a reduced delta nobody is going to confuse Air with M pro.

That’ll be a problem then. Cell phone based nav works fairly well - but not perfectly on interstates. Get off the interstates in the western states, and losing cell service and cell based nav is pretty common. Switching to BMW GPS based nav saves the day…..

Good to learn. Was a simple ah ha moment that made me think maybe air was the best choice now, but I guess now. I do wish bmw would tune air like porsche does where you can truly get comfort and super sporty all in one.

I much prefer in car units as well but this is an addressable problem for any car given a little hardware for storage that gets updated on an acceptable frequency and only used when a signal is unavailable. TMK map providers already offer routes to be stored locally on your phone?

There is a thread on here where some members swear by the pro, saying comfort is even more comfortable than air. There may be some good opinions in there to review.

It definitely is not more comfortable than air. What it seems people are referring to when they say that is comfort in cornering as they don't feel the body roll. As far as comfort over road imperfections, etc. the air will be much more comfortable.

True, but navigational commands do not show on the HUD. On the factory navigation they do. Voice command is also very well integrated on the factory navigation.

Unfortunately, Waze does not show on the heads up, but I still like using Waze better and if you’re wearing a Apple Watch, it will Do Audible tone turn by turn? and on your CarPlay

If you use Apple Maps via CarPlay or Google Maps via Android Auto they should show up on the HUD or instrument cluster

Google Maps or Waze used through CarPlay (iPhone) won’t show up

^^^ that is based on my own experience with g11 7 and confirmed with users of pre-LCI G05s

There is a little storage box beneath your left knee on the dash, I have found that my sunglasses fit there with no issue.

I don't believe Waze does that but if Using Apple Maps, it does do a haptic vibration on turns. I don't Apple Maps much, so maybe it even doers it on exits. Just noticed it the one time I was using Apple Maps and for the turns, it was doing a nice haptic feedback on the AW

You’re right I forgot it’s on Apple Maps but I did like it. I never use navigation in any car. I don’t like how you have to put. The destination in. The calculations are always off. It’s easier just to use your iPhone or use Waze.

Just use voice control on standard navigation for inputting destinations or send from your phone before entering car, works really well.
