Sport Plus on 2024 xDrive40i

I just took delivery of a 2024 xDrive40i.

I’ve been trying to invoke Sport Plus, but it doesn’t appear when I press the Sport mode button twice.

The manual says this should work. Am I missing something? Is it working for others?

You don't want to use sport+ until after 1200 miles. No launches etc.

Does the "driving experience" show up on your central display if you press sport button? You should be able to select it that way.

If pop-ups have that disabled and doesnt show, another place to look is the middle bottom part of the instrument display. If you keep pressing the sport button, you should see sport to sport plus to sport individual cycle thru as you keep pressing it repeatedly.

Your X5 came with the M-Sport option? If it's an X-line model, even with the purchase of the MSport Adaptable Suspension subscription there is no "Sport Plus" option.

Ah, my X5 is not an M Sport. I did add Adaptive M Suspension via ConnectedDrive.

I'm just curious, how did you learn this or where did you read this? All the documentation I've been able to find says xLine also has Sport Plus and that adding Adaptive M Suspension just enhances the feel of the Sport and Sport Plus modes and makes them more configurable.

Was this a change to the 2024 LCI models?

Thanks, I've tried this multiple times and there's no Sport Plus.

I learned it through direct experience. I came from a 2019 X5 50i Sport, so I was familiar with the capability to select both "Sport" and alternatively, "Sport Plus." When I acquired my 2024 X5 40i X-Line I didn't see that option. I then purchased the MSport Adaptive subscription, which added the ability to select the "Sport" damper setting, but even then it did not add the "Sport Plus" selection. FWIW, it's a no-brainer (IMHO) to purchase the MSport subscription if you have an LCI XLine. Definitely improves the driving experience.

So you have Sport + only if you ordered the full M Sport package. But not if you added the M Sport suspension via Connected Drive.

Is that correct?

Thanks much for your helpful responses.

I agree with you on purchasing the M Adaptive Suspension through ConnectedDrive if you have an xLine. I’m glad I did.

Do you miss Sport Plus in your new X5? How often did you use it?

It is also available for LCI Sport models.

Yes, LCI Sport is what I have. "Sport" is the replacement name for xLine for the 2024 models.

I've been using "xLine" since I see it used more and because I figured it would be easy to confuse "Sport", "M Sport", "Sport [mode]", and "Sport Plus [mode]" in this thread.

I think reason you see it often is due to pre_LC as well as folks not realizing that the xLine moniker has been removed and replaced with Sport. New people to BMW may have not seen xLine before.
