Any Aussies want to take a guess in $AUD? $115k for X5 40i?

Why is the 2019 X4 $8,000 more than the X3? There is NO justification for 8 grand more!
Because the X4 is the M Performance M40i and the X5 is only the 40i. Slap ZMP and ZDH on the X5 before you start talking comparable specs and then look at the price difference.

Plus you're always going to pay more for the coupé version of a vehicle.

I can't justify the larger engine for the price gap, and don't want to bother with the X5 at all if the inline-6 is going to make pulling a 5500 lbs car+trailer setup a pain. Can anyone with previous gen X5 towing experience comment on this?
What kind of trailer? I did an enclosed featherlite with M3 and at highway speed, 70+, then tranny shifted constantly to maintain speed or you had to run it in sport mode which meant 3,000rpm and awful gas mileage. That was 200+ mile drives. Shorter drives it wouldn’t be an issue at all. Everything was rock solid with the x5.

It's a $1200 increase with a lot more standard.

Standard equipment on the all-new 2019 BMW X5 will include a Sport Automatic Transmission with launch control, Dynamic Damper Control, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation, two 12.3" digital displays, and running the seventh generation of BMW iDrive operating system, Adaptive Full LED headlamps, Active Blind Spot Detection, Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, Panoramic Glass Sunroof and pre-wiring for 6,600 lb. trailer towing.

Are they really? I thought the 50i price is comparable even to today's model? I'm glad to see it stick around the $75k mark, will be placing my order for one in October.

Ok. That is a ton more standard equipment so the price increase is justified.

X4/X6 owners ride gangsta. X3/X5 is for family hauling.

That's why...

Which Diesel engine will be available in the US? I'm assuming no M50d, so will it be the carryover I6 or the more powerful version?

If a diesel comes, it would likely be the same as the next-generation engine that is in the current 540d, not the engine in the F15 X5.

I have a 2017 40e so I'm eager to get details on the next version as well.

Latest details that I've seen on forums is the 45e will show up as a 2020 model. I would guess the earliest we'll see them in customer hands is August/September 2019 with the rest of the 2020 models but that is firmly a guess.

That all said, you will likely wait a few more months before we get anything official from BMW.

I'm pretty sure. I haven't seen six-cylinder hybrids mentioned for any model.

Wow BMW is really lagging in the hybrid/full electric segments!

These are the fastest growing segments in the auto industry with Tesla now passing easily the 3 series as the new leader in the compact segment with the model 3 and continuing to grow.

Mercedes is launching their new GLE with outstanding interior and a full electric SUV coming early next year.

Wake up BMW!!! Fossil fuel is dying and quickly

My $0.02.

I think BMW is lagging and should be releasing the 35d or 40d and 45e now rather then next year. Its no reason to wait when they are ready for the other market especially when these X5s are built here. They should of gotten the EPA approval earlier instead of just doing these two gasoline engines.....

I'm still wondering why it's being marketed as a 45e when that implies a 40i model + electric = 45e. This should be a 35e model based on the engine configuration.

I'd love a full electric model with a 300 mile range, with a supporting 4-cyl 2.0 B48 engine a la i3 Rev. That would be perfect.
