Body Control Module Issue with 2021 X5

Anyone have any experience with a body control module fault code with a 2021 X5? Or a 2020 or 2019 X5? Picked up my car less than 2 weeks ago and already in the shop for a bcm fault code that caused the check engine light to come on. Annoying.

YES!! It took my shop 3 weeks to figure out the problem and get it re-programed.

Yeah i drove my 2020 out of the show room and in less than 5km the BCM fault kicked in, car went into limp mode, took right back to the service center. They said they had to "recalibrate" the drive mode sensors. i reckon they just left some shipping braces in place or something was disconnected during its initial dealer underbody wash...

Yep. Thanks to JJ's post, I didn't feel like I got a lemon, and luckily it only took 4-5 hours from walking in to walking out for me. Our service advisor said the DME just needed an update, but couldn't figure out why it was happening....or least didn't want to tell me.

That's not the first time I heard of potential shipping braces being left on the vehicle by accident. What do those even look like?

overall it really feels like dealership are overwhelmed with the large number of models and delivery process they need to perform on each of them.
Very often you will know more than them if you spend some good time on a forum like this one.

If only BMW was giving all these instruction to the owner instead of the dealer I think they would save tons of time and money.
