Last week, Turtleboy told me to call BMW Genius. BMW Genius told me week 45 for the production (first week of November). I would recommend you to do the same.

Some people that ordered end of August or early September in the East Coast just got their cars now (i.e. brave-heart). For them, it was around six weeks. I think it will be six to eight weeks in our case.
Week 45 for me too...

FYI, my M2CS is week 45 production as well and it's not likely to go into production just yet. So I think you week 45 folks are OK right now.

I received a communication from the fleet management +6 months on top of the previous delivery time... it's almost 1 year wait ... is there a way to do the tracking like you do, for EU? tracking app? what I need from the dealer?

My week 45 build just moved from "Scheduled for production" to "Production begins". But it's only week 43 right now, so I'm totally confused. Also there is now a VIN showing

Definitely a good sign that there will be no delay and the car is still scheduled for week 45 build, delivery shortly after that.

After reading Spencer518 post, I checked my status. It has also moved to production begins, so I suppose the process is moving.

I have to admit that I was a little concerned after all the battery recall expansion to most of 2020-2021 that I read over the last few days.

"... While BMW halted deliveries of the PHEV versions... "
https://insideevs.com/news/448966/bm...ll-impurities/

"BMW has expanded its recall of vehicles over a potential battery issue to most of its U.S. plug-in hybrids for the 2020 and 2021 model years."

This is correct. It shows production begins when your VIN is assigned and your order enters the production queue. 1 day prior to the completion date it will show "entering assembly line". Actually assembly of your car takes less than 1 day. At this point the car is likely one step ahead of whatever your tracking shows.

During production begins, its best to use the automated phone order tracking as it will give an estimated completion date. In my countless number of orders, it will always say a date and as you call daily, it will switch to a completion date about 2-3 days sooner than originally anticipated.

So if your car says final quality check or awaiting carrier assignment it is likely it is already on a carrier from the factory to vpc.

Good news...I got my production number on 9/29. Hopefully the status will move to next step soon.

Ugh. Finally decide I’m going to get one and I can’t even order it. I recently tested the 40i and mentioned I was interested in the PHEV. The salesman had little interest in me after. I suppose this is why.

You can still order a 45e in the US. That was a rumor a few weeks ago that turned out to not be true

Was it Abraham Lincoln that said you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet?

I’ve been a bit hesitant to inquire again locally as I didn’t know what doing so would do to bargaining power. Probably a silly consideration. I did message the BMW USA PHEV email on their site to ask when they expected to confirm the all clear (I haven’t seen anything “official” saying batteries from now on won’t have the problem though one could assume I guess) - no response but I’m sure they are swamped and the question isn’t exactly a great one to the company selling the vehicle. Apologies to the site members who have had to read my anxieties about pulling the trigger - life is so chaotic right now anyway, didn’t want to knowingly add a bunch of maintenance trips (my sincere condolences to those without a car or the ability to charge it!)

I saw the discussion about the F2 date on order, do you know what is it, the completion date? I have vin, assigned 26.10, but F2 date is null, so I presume the roll over will be next week.

It was Abraham Lincoln who said so. I read it on the internet.

But in any case, ordered a 45e recently. Week 47 build. No issues. Other threads have others ordering without any problems. No indication of any ordering issues in the US. Perhaps it's in other countries? No idea, but the US hasn't had any recent ordering problems that I've seen.

My local dealer did say initially that there was a stop sale order, but then said he was new and he was trying to get me to test drive one he had on hand. Then, when it turns out I wanted different options, he talked to a sales manager and "could order one no problem, but there would be no discounts on special orders but that have a lot more wriggle room on the one in stock." Other dealers I talked to through email/phone all said there was no problem special ordering.

I started this thread about potential delays but want to share my current status.

Order data :09/30 ,with scheduled for Prod status the next day
10/22 Production begins
10/27 Automated status update - Build complete by 11/4

My original dealer estimate was 11/15.

I dont see any delays and the timeline from order date to delivery still remains 4-5 weeks

Thanks
