delivery at dealership scheduled for W40. After some paperwork, probably looking at delivery in W42

might be 😉 Mine is on the Torrens. you can check it by replacing the XXX in the url below by your VIN.

https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps/?fr....cargoId%3DXXX

Then you can track the vessel on

Because we in the EU are not a growth market anymore. They can sell more cars and make more money elsewhere. So we are third rate customers.

After the Corona production shutdown many European orders who were about to go in production were pushed back for months. My dealer said BMW was giving priority to the Asian and US market.

I think it's simple as that.

I ordered my car in late July, the car was made last week, but shipping here might take 9 weeks.

My order for a 45e has just been placed and the dealer told me that the delivery date is the first week in January, which aligns with other UK members here that ordered before me, so I'm very sceptical!

Are European cars now built in the US?

Yes, EU X5s are built in Spartanburg. Delays are especially long for BE and FR 45e customers, not really for other countries. For BE, they underestimated the quota for hybrid considering the fiscal advantages and the fact that there was no hybrid competition in that segment... 2nd batch of BE orders was done after US and Asia launch batches as far as I understand. With covid on top, we did end up with 10 to 13 months delay.

There are no more covid impact for new orders I believe.

DE also had long waits. Basically any country that offered huge tax incentives for the 45e saw people queue up and wait.

This is my 1st BMW when i saw the G06, was love at first sight! I said finally they have bigger grills!!
I am extremely happy on how much better this car looks in person! I have to tell my girlfriend to drive around so i can look at it from afar!
Here some photos i took with my cellphone, the color is carbon black with merino coffee and carbon fiber trim, also added the roof bars and they look great! I f anyone needs a particular picture, let me know ill try to do it better.
Thanks to everyone for all the help this forum brings!

can you confirm that status 165 means on ship and not at docks waiting to be shipped ?

Not formally; just deduced that from some google searches + the fact that bmw's system says it should arrive at the dealer in Belgium in w40. The person at the dealer said she wasn't able to tell if it's currently on a ship or not.
I think status 165 is just "in transit from spartanburg to eu", not specifically on the ship or at the docks.

thats what i'm trying to find out.

the car has been in status 165 since september 5th

on that day a ship left to the EU from Charlston but i can't track the car yet so it might be that it is still at the docks and taking today's ship of the 12th ?

What I got from my dealer a while back is status 165 = ready to be shipped. That was the latest status update I got.
I think it will show up sometime now in the Wallenius tracking.

There is somewhere a link in this thread. You have to put your VIN at the end. This works.
But my car showed up when it was already a week in Bremerhaven.
I don't know how ip to date this tracking is now.

Try this:

https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps/?fr..._VIN_GOES_HERE

Works with my VIN.
