X5 45e Dashboard OVERHEATING!
I have been working from home so I have just been driving the car short distances but the last 2 weeks I've been having to drive about an hour and a half to go to work twice a week. I noticed by chance that my part of the dashboard where my instrument clusters are located was hot, not warm, but HOT. I thought it was very odd, never seen anything like it before having driven BMWs for years. I've driven long distances for a few days again prior this post and noticed the same thing. I have an appointment to get it checked out but wondering if anyone else have experienced this. Thanks in advance!

my 2021 45e does not get hot in either location, but what color is your dashboard? if black and in direct sunlight, then the answer’s pretty obvious |

If it's under direct sunshine, it will get hot since the entire back of the screen is black colored. That's why I always put up a reflective sun shade when parking the vehicle outdoors in summer.
