Wow! Going to have to try that! I didn't realize it even shifts from R to D and to P at the end. That is awesome!

Can you confirm that you do not need to HOLD any button while the vehicle auto-parks?

I am asking because on the G01 you need to hold the parking button...

You don’t have to hold any button to auto park the G05.

Great video. Thanks.

Question: Can you tell us the exact official name of the feature you are demonstrating?

Correct. You don't need to hold any buttons. Just activate the turn signal and take your foot off the brake and it does everything.

cool, but nowhere near Tesla...

Definitely neat. I know it is not a Tesla but the way they do it is on a different level. Apparently in 6 weeks they will have an auto park/summon update for their newest cars that will park and pull up for you.

Imagine going to the store and having the car drop you off, park for you, then pick you up when you summon it with your phone. Regardless, a step in the right direction. Wonder if it will be a feature on the G20.

Driving is under fire. It's sad indeed when you need help to park. Am personally against this type of assistance packages, as I do want to enjoy the experience and not having to wait for a machine to do the job for me.
These features are good for disabled people though as they will be able to get around more easily... Granted they can afford those fautures.

I enjoy driving and don't really love all the aids - some are great for safety etc, but watching other people's ability to drive, especially maneuvering oversized vehicles in parking lots, I am happy to give the aids to everyone that is incompetent at parking as it will save my car from getting hit hopefully.

That's a good point. There are many clumsy drivers out there. Especially when people are not used to parallel parking, as is the case in the US.

When I used it on the demo 40i, yes, it backed into the spot. Actually never pulled forward into one.

i have the autopark on my g30. I have used it maybe 3 times just to show people how it works. Other than that, its helpful for those that need assistance aka can't park of s*&t. jk! In all seriousness, i think its more handy for parallel parking...if i remember to use it.

That's a positive step forward from G30 parking assistance plus. Never understood the reason why I needed to turn the signals on or hold down the button when car knows the direction and has all the technology to stop by itself if any obstacles present themselves.
