I ordered my X5 40i with 3rd row this week. Earliest build week with 3rd row is April 1st week which is Week 14! If I had not ordered 3rd row, earliest build week would have been Week 10 (March 1st week). Ugh, but I need the third row for occasional use.

Apparently the line needs to be reconfigured for 3rd row production so they only do it once in a while when sufficient orders come in (this from a dealer rep so take it for what its worth).

Lucky you! You must have gotten in on the first week of 3rd row builds which was in February. When did you place the order? I am hearing next build week for 3rd rows is April 1st week.

Please send pictures! I have not seen any pics/brochures of what the third row looks like or the comfort etc.

Order was placed January 7th with an estimated completion of March 1. Once I received a production #, the date moved up to Feb 19th which is the day is showed up at my dealer in Louisiana.

What’s does your garage status showing? When did you place your order? I placed mine on Feb 14 and garage status only shows order received.

My order was placed on Feb 18th. Garage status just shows "Order Received". I think until a build week slot is assigned it wont move to a "scheduled for production" status. Also I did PCD so my delivery will take longer as I understand PCD slots are pretty heavily booked.

My order was placed on Feb 19th and it shows PRODUCTION BEGINS with VIN number already :-)

Not surprising, no delay if you don't order the 3rd row seat I guess! Also perhaps your dealer had a good build slot already allocated in the pipeline?

I ordered mine on Monday. No third row or PCD. Status says scheduled for production. Which essentially means it was ordered.

I am not sure because the dealer told me that I might need to wait for 3 months.

Dealer said nonsense. Wait time in US is 4-6weeks for factory order.

Definitely not that long. We just put in our order 2/19/19 and it's estimated completion is 3/7/19. It does depend on a build slot, dealers can trade w/i a group. Ours has been sitting in "Production begins" for a couple of days but this website tracker is slow to update, probably for good reason. Under promise, over deliver. They need to...it was a royal cluster **** with our dealer so they rushed up a build slot. Holding judgement until the vehicle gets here. This video explains quite a bit about the production line and sequencing in S.C. for the "X" cars...it's long but informative.

My order was put in on 2/21 and BMW says completion will be on 3/5. Been showing "production begins" since 2/22.

yes, likely build slot was already allocated.
Ordered mine on Feb 18th, ETA is ~March 15th. 40i, no 3rd row.

Week 14 here too but no 3rd row. 40i M Sport and my first ever BMW!

Dealer confirmed my allocated build is Week 17 (April 22nd) and I ordered Feb 18th with 3rd row.
