So had to make quick decision to order the one that i want since almost no slots were available anymore. Originally 2-3 NJ dealers gave 8-9% discount on MSRP but ended up having almost 12.5% discount including savings+rebates+incentives. Originally i was planning on leasing but ended up financing since i was planning to keep the car for long term. My original MSRP was $81,520, went down by $10,332. Financed for 60 months at 1.9% with $3000 down. I placed the order on June 20 Saturday and my SA told me i have to act fast since my order can go into production over the weekend. First i highly doubted since lots of you guys had hard time going into production with all the covid situation. Surprisingly i got the production number and status is "scheduled for production". Due to parts shortage, i had to compromise on massage & ventilated seats along with Adaptive M suspension
Thanks for all your advices and insights. Will keep you guys posted.

Isn't adaptive M suspension part of the M sport package? Did they discount the cost to account for that? If so how much?

Correct, adaptive suspension is part of M Sport package but since parts were not available, i went ahead with 2axle air suspension which replaces adaptive m suspension. No discount was offered for BMW not having adaptive suspension.

We ordered one for my wife at the end of May - it's scheduled for production, and our sales guy said it is currently confirmed to finish production on July 20!

That's disappointing. I just placed an order and didn't hear that adaptive is no longer available.

I've been stuck on Production Begins for two weeks. This morning it was on 'Entering Assembly Line' and tonight it's on 'Quality Check'. Hopefully it will ship by next week.

When were you told M adaptive wasn't available? I placed an order 6/30 with M-Sport and got a production number and build week 30 but no mention of issues with the spec so hoping I am in the clear?

I'm confused as well. I found a few X5s online that were built between 6/20 and 6/30 and they show the adaptive suspension.

I also called my CA as well as BMW corporate and neither had heard about a parts shortage regarding adaptive. My build is scheduled for week 30: 7/19 and both parties expect it to include the adaptive.

Separately 5 years ago when I placed a 335 at the end of the build year my dealer had an allocation that was at the early stage of production which allowed me to change wheel size, stereo and port installed accessories but it was too late to add the adaptive suspension. Could have been a similar issue for the forum member.

Who knows...

I’ve got a week 28 build that’s an M sport x40i and it’s showing adaptive suspension. No comment from dealer that we had any issues on parts shortages (I didn’t pick the luxury seating anyway)

Finally picked it up

Hey everyone. I picked it up 7/7 and have been driving since..
My only gripe so far is the turbo lag (still use to my S4).. Other than that; I love it.

In your experience, when should it be at dealer. I live in Virginia Beach...not far from Spartanburg....
