Would you buy/lease another G05?

Now that the G05 has been out for a couple model years and owners have, hopefully, been able to have the majority of infantile failures solved and OTA's are finally rolling out, would you buy or lease another G05 when it comes time to let your current one go?

Thought a poll might be interesting. This will be a very basic Yes or No poll. Judging from past polls, we will hopefully see a little over 100 responses.

Edit: I added the word lease but it won't let me edit the poll title to add it so suffice it to say the word Buy and Lease for this poll are synonymous.

Hmm, I don't know. Almost a year after ordering I still haven't my first one

But the loaner I have since a good month doesn't have any issues. Drives better than my F16. And technology wise I find it a big improvement.

Hopefully the 45e won't be a lemon

We're at 17k miles now and no *real* issues. Knock on wood but we haven't had most of the software glitches that some reported (ours is a 1/2019 build). I am still annoyed at the high pitched noise that's on on the control/bus lines of the car that primarily emanates from the dash. But yeah, as of now I wouldn't hesitate to get another X5.

As I always assert for any bimmer, I would get and love another G05/F95 X5, but if and only if I continue to have the fantastic relationship with my service department that I have right now and only in warranty (factory or extended). As soon as either of those end, no way in hell will I ever deal with BMW without that.

Buy/Lease another G05

I am leasing a 2019 X540i. I definitely will lease another at the end of this lease, especially if Glacier Silver exterior comes back.

I buy my cars outright but I generally like cars and researching new models as they come out. I am always looking for a "plan B" vehicle if my current gets in a wreck. I generally still feel the G05 is the best luxury SUV tailored for a owner that wants a "drivers car". I like the attention to detail every time I get into my X5. I notice it when its gone and the little things absent in other vehicles. For example:
When I get in the G05 when opening the door, the seat controls and the panel holding the controls all look high end with dual tone metal controls and not generic black buttons protruding through a naked generic plastic panel on the sides of the seats. The door sills light up and uses quality metal materials. The dead pedal is large and uses the same brushed metal matching the door sills. The pedals also match the same theme and not just generic black rubber pedals. These are the attention to details that cant be faked when shopping for a high end auto.

I'm in doubt....

* The non-corona related massive delays and customer feel makes me go for no.
* The test drives allowing me to compare to my previous cars from other brands (VW, Audi, Skoda, Cayenne, Mercedes) makes me go for yes. On top, there is no hybrid alternative outside the X5.

At this time, I don't know.

Maybe I will forget all about the downside when I can finally take ownership on July 17th.

There should be a third option for: maybe or haven't decided.

If there was a Maybe or Undecided, that would have been the popular choice, albeit a weasel choice, I wanted owners to think about the issues they've had, have or think they have vs the pleasure they get via ownership as compared to whatever other cars they have or are thinking about. All cars have and will continue to have issues, its a tradeoff between the negative and positives of G05 ownership. So far the positives are outweighing the negatives 31 to 1.

Example: For all the critical reviews, complaints, etc LexxM3 posts, he would still buy/lease another G05. Sure he's depending on his dealer relationship, but in the end, you don't need a dealer if your car never has issues and you can change dealers if you don't like the one you have so it falls back to the car and like all of us, we have other choices, its our free will that allows us to decide.

Well, I think you would also get a more realistic picture versus the definite yes or no. I’m sure there are a lot of people on the fence, so to speak, and it could provide better insight into how many and why versus the yes or no response that may look good in the surface, but just isn’t a reflection of reality.

Just for the record, I can't really practically switch dealers without moving to a new city. It's one of the reasons that relationship is so important and I got lucky for a change. I think I am now "allowed" to buy from a different dealer, but the first 2 M3s couldn't be sold to me unless my residential address matched the associated dealer's region — not enough competition laws and enforcement here and one of the reasons I stopped respecting BMW Canada way back when.

And I've often said I like BMW cars (G05 X5 is the 3rd) and highly dislike and have no respect for the customer facing parts of BMW, BMW Canada, and BMW NA; not impressed with customer-facing software teams either, but driveline software teams are clearly great and the mechanical teams remain great; manufacturing is hit or miss. And it is quite possible that my vote would be different if I couldn't code some of the stupidity out, it's that important.

Anyway, everything is nuanced.

By the time my lease ends, my girls will be all grown up and while probably still at home, I doubt we'll be needing something as big. So current assumption is that while very happy with the G05 and would definitely have again, we'd perhaps look to downsize to an X3, but will be driven by monthly payment difference.

Yes, I buy my vehicles and keep them for 10 years. This was by far my most expensive, but loving it so far. My 2011 328 has 184,000 miles on it and its still rock solid. Most likely it will be the first car I will keep beyond 10 years.

Yes, I would. Most of the issues Had were all fixed with software updates. Problem with buying the first few production months of a completely new car.

The question would you buy/lease another. You answered and don't have yours yet. 😬

A third option of maybe would make for a nice poll too. But, there is something nice and blunt about a binary poll that I think has value. If you are so on the fence that you cannot answer, then maybe you don't vote. If are on fence but leaning, then maybe you vote the way you are leaning.

So far for this poll, the results are 94% would buy/lease again. It will be interesting to see how the poll results move as more owners/lessees vote.

For me personally, its been an amazing car and I'd buy another in a heartbeat. No fence sitting here.

the g05 has improved on pretty much every single feature the f15 has, and then added semi autonomous driving. My friends loved the F15 but when they get into the G05 their jaws all but drop. and now that we got pretty much every extravagant option bmw offers, my tastes are totally spoiled. I cant go back to another lesser equipped vehicle.

I've been mulling over this issue myself. The cost of entry is high and I may not be able to afford another one 7 to 10 years from now. However, I'm spoiled now and won't be happy with anything less!

That's why we didn't buy. We leased. Tech is moving way too fast to contemplate keeping a car like this for a decade
