I’m thinking I’ll be able To adjust it as needed. Literally either stick it in or out and then tighten it. At this point it’s trial
And error, hence the $18 tips lol

Keep in mind, you aren’t clamping the tip to the edge of the exhaust pipe, you have a few inches to work with.

Same goal here. Did you ever try the 2.5 x 3 tips? Very interested to see how they fit. I think they are going to look perfect.... little concerned about rattling though

The fitment is 90%, it’ll need some adjustment once it’s tightened.
There’s no room to tighten once they are on and they are pretty hard to tighten as is due to the clamp design. My plan is to tighten them first and then snug fit them on and adjust as much as I can. I ordered the other 2 tips so once they get here I’ll put all 4 on and do final adjustment. There is Atleast 1/4” space between the tips and bumper so I don’t think rattling should be much of an issue.

Wow..... that looks amazing. That is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Very classy, very subtle.... works perfectly.

Are those the tips you posted with the 1 adjustment screw..... or the 3 adjustment screws?

I want to get the exact same ones.

No rattles?

Tim, Looking at the pic. they're not sticking out that much. Can they be pushed in little more for tight fit? This is just in case they are sticking out little more than i want. I will not be putting any clamp on so they need to be very tight. Before i place an order, in your opinion 6" length is the right length or should i go with 4" length. Thank you again for your effort and guidance.

I think they're with 1 screw which is 3"od and fit. 3 screws is 3.5"od and will not fit.

For me it has come down to Tim's or your RTP-039B. Waiting for Tim's response.

These are the 2.5x3x6 with 1 screw clamp that I sent amazon link for. You can push them in more if needed so you do have a few inches of adjustment. Once I get the other pair tomorrow I’ll install them all and do final adjustment. You can also do 4” length and it won’t be a problem, I just haven’t been able to find any.

4” will be too wide to go inside the opening. Max size should be is 3.5”

I believe the ones he sent has to be welded right? Gotta take bumper off for that, too much work

If I had a 50i instead of the 40i, I'd for sure modify for the quad look. Loved it on my Macan.

Tim, 4" is the length.RTP-039B ID 2.5" x OD 3" x Length 4" and yes anything over 2.5" ID and 3" OD will not fit however length can be up to 6". RTP-039B I was just going to insert them tight. Welding them would have been too difficult.

The seller has been jacking up the price for last couple hours as i believe people are buying this thing since you confirmed the fitment. It was $28.50 to $29.99 when i purchased and now $32.99.

Absolutely fantastic. I think I would have installed them to sit flush with the curve of the bumper..... but the fact that they fit is ultimately what I wanted to "see".

Kinda jealous that you did it first..... but whatever

All I'm waiting on is confirmation that you're not getting any rattling or buzzing. At that point, I will buy 4 of them.

My "parts pile" is growing.... and I don't even have the car yet:

2 21" pirelli Scorpion Verde front tires
2 21" pirelli Scorpion Verde rear tires
15mm H&R front spacers
20mm H&R rear spacers
Appropriate length wheel lock bolts
2 Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets
2 BMW specific tablet housings
2 BMW specific tablet mounts
2 10-inch USB to USB C angled connectors
2 128gb micro SD cards
M color grill inserts
4 exhaust tips (very soon)

M performance parts.... up next.

Now they are $50 ! The hell lol
The reason I wouldn’t do them is because I have a lease and don’t want to weld anything

I still found them for $32 each...... but your post had me worried.

There was only 1 seller on Amazon selling this exact fitment...... and it's a bolt-on (not weld). He had 17 left.

Now he has 13 left

Nope.... now it says 10 left:
2.5 Inlet Black Exhaust Tip, OsoTorero Universal 2.5" x 3" x 6" Blot On Stainless Steel Tailpipe Tip for Pickup Truck Car https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VJCB6WM..._OMsTDb5J7T8FY

I think when Tim mentioned $50 he must have been referring to RTP-039B. They are going for $50 which is the original price . I don't think OsoTorero Universal 2.5" x 3" x 6" ever went up $50.They are $32.99 now but that could change.

Yea.... I was the one who originally found those.... but then forgot about them, because the bolt-on ones just seem to be a better/easier solution.

I thought he was talking about the bolt-on ones going up to $50.... which isn't true. But, they did go up to $33. Still... I can see they work, so I went ahead and bought 4 of them before they are gone.

Alright so the tips are in and honestly it was a big pain in the *** to adjust.
Off the bat you’ll need to tighten the clamps all the way and that still was a bit loose for me as they all shifted when I did a test run. I then took them all out and bent in the tips that meet when clamped to get it even tighter and a tighter fit with one of the ends providing leverage. You’ll need to really push them in and I used a rubber mallet to knock them into the length and position I wanted. As mentioned before, the fitment is 90% and if you are OCD then it might not look good to you. Here are some pics of the finished results.

I think it looks fantastic..... and I'm glad I bought the same parts.

I also think you are being too hard on yourself, because YOU did the work. If you look at ANY other car on the road..... and look closely..... you'll notice that NONE of them are absolutely, 100% symmetrical.... not one.

You notice "yours"... because you did it. No one else will notice anything, I promise.

I consider this thread a HUGE success. Thanks for chiming in, providing your experiences, and sharing pictures. I'm crazy-stoked about doing the same thing.
