Damage Upon Taking Delivery
Was super excited about my 23 x45e but I found a scrap/scratch around the fuel door before I drove it off the lot. Dealer told me verbally and written on email that they would fix it. Did I make a mistake by accepting delivery?
I am in the West Coast so if I refused, I would bid farewell to the 7500 credit. Another option I have is to not let their body shop handle it but this requires a repaint I think. Any suggestions? |

Have the dealer fix it. New car new paint will match as the car is new and not exposed to paint fading and the elements. I am really careful with my car but learned to aceept that these things happen.

You should be fine, I'm sure they will take care of it.

I agree with 123vani. Have the dealer fix it. I had a similar situation with my dealer, except that I observed the scratch after I picked the car after my first engine oil service. They had caused the scratch and they offered to fix it. I got a loaner and after three or so days I got the car back in perfect condition. There was no sign of a scratch afterwards.
It turned out that the scratch was caused by the dealer giving me a “free” car wash after the service. I learned my lesson not to have them do any car wash at after service. |

I agree, i would have them fix it and call it a day. 7500 is a good credit and paint isn't a big deal imho.
