Well. Its not just about the difference between front and back but also about trying to keep the diameter as was designed. Plus 5 on aspect ratio is a decent increase. People have done it and apparently without issues, but I think 285/40 and 315/35 provides a better match to stock size. Why deviate further if you dont have to.

True true.. Are you still on that 285 40 and 315 35 set up with yokohama tires? Or when you had it did you have any issues? In Canada I can't find those sizes that are matching sigh

To be honest, I have not yet installed them because to my shock, the Continental Premium Contact ended up being pretty good in the snow. I see no reason to trash them with 8k miles that they now have. I have the Yokohamas stashed away for perhaps the next season or whenever the Conti's are done. The Yokohamas were a killer deal.

Yes. Reluctantly and carefully, my wife and I had an opportunity to drive on them in light dusting. They did just fine. I cancelled the yokohamas installation appointment and see how it goes. A few weeks later we had 4-5" come down. Again very reluctantly we embarked on a one hour trip in blizzard conditions to a friends house. The contis were fine doing 40mph with solid snow cover on the pavement. You do have to drive more carefully as the traction is most certainly compromised. Conversely, my rwd ats-v on all season michelin pilot sport as3+, which I think are great, was all over the place.
That said I would not recommend using them in frequent snow conditions. They are ok for occasional use in the snow and being aware of their limits.

Ok thanks.
Yea so I have original P-Zeros. I live in WA it’s rear to get snow but massive rain all the time.
Long story I’ve tried driving even on P zero in light snow and it was fine. I think it’s mostly the car lol. It’s very good in snow.
So I am not surprised you did ok.
Mine are approaching end of life and I just want something a little more all season that’s why I am trying to figure out what to get. I don’t really want to get P zero again.
I’ve look at Contis there is also on Tire Rack Michelin Sport 4 SUV (summer).
So I am wondering what would be better.
Do you like Contis overall?

Has anyone tried the Continental Procontact TX? It's available in the 285/40 315/35 sizes.

Be careful also when you change overall diameter of a wheel/tire, slightest change will impact odometer calibration. The calibration was set at factory based on your OEM size, so changing it will now throw it off.

Too much of a difference with 285s. I wouldnt do it. A transfer case is damn expensive.

Or go with MB GLE AMG setup.
275/45/21, 315/40/21.
There are many who tried in this forum and no rubbing or anything.

Yes I think that's the ideal 21" option.

You will see 5 times more options.
Only thing that can be negative going to that size would be handling.
Other than that, you will get more comfort, ground clearance, choice, and money in a bank account.
