Pirelli Zero run flats 21's
What's everyone running and what do you think of the road noise. I have the Pirelli's and from what I've read are superb tires in regards to handling but quite noisy. I'm considering the jump to Michelins Pilot Sport 4's. Anyone have experience with these tires? I'm driving the X5 50e.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires are the best summer street tires you can buy. Pirelli tires cant be compared with them. Especially, not any run flat models. Thats never an additive to performance.

I had a pair on the front of my X6 on 21" before I went to 22" - they are amazing tyres, wet and dry. I had RFT and non-RFT P zero's on the same 21" and as mentioned, they cannot compare to the Michelins. The Pirellis are a poor tyre IMO - they wear like performance tyres, but handling is merely 'adeqate' (not impressive) when new, handling is poor by 50% wear and become uncomfortable by 50% wear. |

I have the '21 setup on my X5 and the car was delivered with Hankook tires... you think the P-Zero PZ4's are bad? Try the Hankook... Those tires would just howl going down the road a freeway speed. The cavity noise was so loud you could barely think! I've had the Pirelli's for about 10k miles and I'm still satisfied.
Going forward I wouldn't do the staggered '21 setup again due to the limited options. |
