For those of you with lowering links and air suspension…

Curious to know how lowering links have faired with you since installation, especially with the adjustable air suspension.

- Any suspension issues since installation?
- How is tire wear and did you need an alignment?
- How is the ride and is there considerable difference from stock since installation?
- how low did some of you go from OEM height?

Thanks in advance!

Zero suspension issues since installation. I wouldn't be able to tell you about tire wear since I have a separate winter set and I change wheels and tires nearly every season, but in the time I do have a certain set of tires, no uneven wear. I probably could benefit from an alignment but I've never had one yet.

The ride is slightly harsher, but handling is slightly improved comparing one specific height setting pre and post links. The old load setting is now my sport setting.

Thanks for the info Brian! How much lower is the OEM load setting from OEM comfort setting and sport? Just so I can get an idea how low that is in terms of inches or centimeters from what you did. Also, which lowering link did you use?

20 mm from comfort setting to sport setting.

I'm running BBM lowering links.

I do appreciate the info though, thank you!

I've been driving with lowering links from RG Sport for little over a year, no issues to report here, I'm using recommended settings.

The only thing I can recommend if you going with them is to coat them before installing, they kinda rusty now (but this only on outside parts) no functional issues.

I might be getting new set again, just to coat them first or maybe I'll see if they have newer coated version now.

Hope this helps/

Oh okay, thank you! By coat do you mean ceramic coat or paint? Did you have to do an alignment when you got yours done or did you install this directly and have been using them ever since without needing an alignment?

by coating I mean either paint or ceramic whichever u prefer

as for alignment, no I didn’t have to do it, I change wheels quite often as well as I only drove 8k miles for the last year and half.

This is good info! Thank you!

If I do get the ones from RG Sport (Ben) I'll definitely ceramic coat them. Are there any other lowering links apart from the ones from RG Sport or BBM?

I spoke with a buddy of mine that also installed the lowering links from RG Sport and he said the same thing about it rusting up. Says that he probably should've coated it or gone with a lowering link that was already coated or better material that doesn't rust.

Anyone else that installed the RG Sport lowering links experience it rusting?

The end-link already coated from factory. I guess it is not enough to go against road salt.
I was thinking to anodize them, but anodizing will add thickness and I afraid it will create issue with the ball for not moving freely.
The rust is only a surface rust, it won't break on you.
