Is Bowers and Wilkins done for good for 2022 X5M ordered this year?

Wondering if anyone has any information on B&W sound availability for orders in this year. I tried ordering it with my BMW X5M last week and the dealer said it is not available but may become available later. According to BMW Genius, my build date is not until the last week of March and I still see my car in 112 status in BMW Garage.

If it becomes available between now and the next status change (not sure when that will be if it's scheduled for late March, I want to try to add it.

Has anyone successfully done so this year?

B&W seems to have gone for all the models somehow... I highly doubt it will become available any time soon. Though I would very like to have it, mine m50i has gone into status 150 so nothing I can do.

A handful of EU and CA users claim their dealer "manually" added it. Haven't seen anyone from US succeed though.

B&W was super overrated in my F90 M5 and sounded worse than HK in a G05. I will say that it is superb in my X5MC though

My dealer added the B&W sound system to my X5 xDrive40i M Sport options list and it didn't come up as unavailable, don't know if it makes any difference but I'm in the UK.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all X5s produced at the Spartanburg plant? If yes, I'm curious as to why some of the non US markets are prioritized and able to spec it. (And forgive me if this has already been answered - I know there have been various discussions on this forum)

My order was placed first week in December. A few weeks back we were told from Germany that I needed to remove it, but decided to hold on a little longer. Yes, I am in the USA.

Had dealer make a special request… bmw accepted it was added to my build

Mine went through same process as yours. Had to keep waiting for that.

had my dealer reach out to special requests. Their response was that it "slowly came off of restriction for high-end models. Now they have just received word from factory that it is restricted completely and has since been removed from the system"…I guess take that for what it's worth

I made a mod to my order over the weekend and got it added. I checked with bmw and it was accepted as part of my order. It is still available on the 'build your own' part of the website too. I'm hoping it isn't dropped from my build later.

Order was placed 3/3. Production number assigned 3/5. Just made a modification to order on 3/19. I basically changed the whole car and went to a M Sport model. Called BMW yesterday and they said all the changes were accepted and the 'my garage' has all the changes listed.
