No Tire Rotation on Run Flats?

Hi All, just had the one year service done on our xDrive 40i, and our dealer said they don't rotate the tires. When I questioned, they said its because of the camber setup & there's no need to rotate. Has anyone else encountered this with their dealer? It's not a staggered set-up. I don't see how it's not possible to get some rounding on the fronts compared to rears over time. We're on the 20 inch M rims with Bridgestone Alenza's.

I'm not sure about run-flats on X5, but I never rotated run-flats on an X1 and they wore down almost identically.

Regardless of type of tire though - I remember seeing an estimate of rotation $+time cost vs presumed gains in longevity, and the winner was no rotation.

May also be an awd thing. On a fwd car or rwd car you would definitely see more wear on the driven wheels, and rotation would make sense. For a car where all for are driven there is likely a lot less difference in wear, so rotation would have no real benefit (assuming proper alignment, etc,)

I spoke to the service manager today when I ordered my M50i. This topic came up and he said the base runflats I am getting should last about 20k miles and not to rotate them unless I do it before 5k miles. He said because of the rear tire settings (I think it was camber) it would cause those tires to wander and not track well on the front.

Yes, it was the camber issue. They said the due to how they have the camber setup the tires benefit from not being rotated. Thanks all for responding - wanted to make sure it wasn't a dealer ideology.

On my staggered setups on my F15, the rears wore out twice as fast as the front's. Both on the summer tires and the Conti DWS06 all season's I used in the winter.

On my wife's F15 with 19" square setup, wear seems to be pretty even.

Not enough time on my summer and winter 22" on my M50i yet to see how they will wear.
