BMW many years back were good with customer care, now they are one of the worst I've dealt. Might just be Tamworth BMW in the UK Its just not worth chasing blowing hot and cold....... see what i did there

Interesting thing...I have them in my 2014 benz, and last week i got a 2020 GLS as a loaner. It had the option, and figured i'd try the cooling. I was shocked at how cold the cooler option worked - much better than the 2014, i took the cup out and put my hand on the side walls, was very cold metal. Wonder how BMW does it, but sounds like they don't do it like Benz!

I have the comfort pack selected with my order for a new X5 which includes the hot and cold cup holders but my dealer has told me that BMW are changing the options and he is expecting a email from BMW tomorrow to let the dealers know what changes will be happening, just hope they don't change too many options like they have done in the USA

if you have a cup with a liquid with ice cubes in it. the ice cubes will stay as ice for a long while. it wont cool a room temp liquid to cold

Garage List
Keeps cold things cooler, keeps hot things warmer, than ambient temp.

Thermoelectric cup holder has six-pin plug connection. Cannot find wiring diagram of the center console and what connections are there.

Is there a parts catalog that shows all these parts, illustrations and part numbers?

Don't bother, I never use mine. They don't really heat or cool well lol.

I actually wish I didn't have it, because this feature actually makes the cup holders a bit smaller.

Thanks for the advice, -Vanguard-. I'm interested in seeing what parts make up the feature, but smaller holders is def a con.

How small is the opening of each one?
