Sport+ mode in 45e
If I understand it correctly, sport+ mode is not available in 45e. Do you guys know the reason? What will be missing without sport+ mode?

That'd be a great thing you can research in the owner's manuals and post to help out the community - let us know what you find out!

Same thing for the 30d/Diesel from the factory, only supports Eco/Comfort/Sports/Sports Individual modes, no Sports+ mode.
I've actually enabled Sports+ in my 30d via coding through Bimmercode, you should be able to do the same, but just be careful as your vehicle is a Hybrid and not sure if Sports+ mode might do something bad. I thought the latest BMW PHEVs (including the 45e) had "XtraBoost"mode?, which enables the electric motor to provide extra power in addition to the petrol motor for extra/harder acceleration. I would expect that to be the equivalent of Sports+ for the 45e? Also noticed "XtraBoost" mode is configurable in Bimmercode, so if it doesn't come enabled from the factory, you can always code it. |

As I understand it the Sport+ mode is just the normal Sport mode but with the DSC disabled. Suspension/engine/gearbox does not change so I do not see any reason to have it coded.
Correct me if I'm wrong here...

If sport + turns of DSC it might not be so practical with 250 kg of batteries on the rear axle? Launch control is available on the 45e |

as a decade long owner of m3/4 'verts who only sport drives with the hardtop in the trunk I can say unless the 45e can drift, that ass will throw you into a spin faster than you can say "hold my beer"

The weight distribution on the 45e is 48/52% F/R. Not that far off from the 50/50 of the 40i

Any 45e owners willing to try it? Sports+ doesn't disable DSC - at least not in the coded version I've turned on in my 30d, however I do notice a difference in Engine and Transmission shift response when in Sports+ mode. If I want optimum acceleration, DSC does need to be turned off which I can do manually... |

I'll admit to only being a light user of DSC over the years so not much experience, but wouldn't DSC on give you optimum acceleration given x-drive? Otherwise wouldn't you lose traction and get sub optimum acceleration?

Ah, I see, thanks, so the DSC cuts power when the wheels start to slip ... is there a "light" mode (like m-mode) that'll give you partial DSC or doesn't it matter because no matter what the wheels are going to slip and DSC will cut power ....

It's weird to me that these cars have launch control and paddle shifters like they're sports cars or something. Do people use these features?

shift paddles? several times during road trips. shifting gears when beneficial comes second nature. all automatics have ‘manual’ abilities to some extent remember, the 45e is by-and-large an ICE vehicle first, an EV second |

Launch control is really only for drag races. No one uses it on circus, or autobahn. In fact, there is no situation in those environment for launch control. But yes, people take all kind of cars to drag strip. 45e won't be the weirdest one
