Completely unacceptable for a vehicle at this price point. I have the extended merino/quilted and no issues.

So much for those who claimed the wrinkles were a design feature, hang your heads in shame for posting such nonsense.

My MY20 (x2) are virtually wrinkle-less also, but I would submit not enough MY21s have emerged yet to declare the Wrinkle Wars over....

Actually it only goes as more evidence that it was by design since the change came at the beginning of the model year. . At least it looks that way so far.

I agree - it's as designed.

Further I'll add the previous most ridiculous complaint in the history of the forum was the guy whose kids fell asleep in the back seats of his M3 on a road trip and started sweating even though the a/c was on! The cruel irony was he and his wife were too cold up front. You'd think a track-oriented sportscar would be more comfortable for families, amiright?

Anyway, wrinkle-gate has ascended to #1! Congrats to all.

Personally I'm SOOOoooo hoping for wrinkles. If I have wrinkles I'll get more joy than my first ED.

One of the last 2020 X5 40i's manufactured. Seems that wrinkles were once a fad that has now gone away...

Oh, and I confess. Wanted to make sure I was part of this historical 1000+ posts thread...

I took it that he meant he still had the wrinkles and now they were gone in MY21 but maybe not. We have had a number of folks in the past say they didn't have wrinkles but when the posted a pic they did have them.

I think what many folks are thinking of are the horrendous outliers that we have seen where you could literally grab a hold of the folds. Those obviously were examples of poor manufacturing and QC and not how they were intended. To try and get folks on the same page we probably should have used non-smooth rather than wrinkles but it just doesn't have the same visual effect.

Now look, I'm not saying wrinklegate is a sneaky way for BMW to make fun of seniors, I'm just asking questions ...

An interesting hypothesis. I will ponder that while seeing what I can find hidden in my age lines.
